Keys
The numeric keys are used
to
enter the digits 0 through
9.
Special
Symbol
Keys
The special symbol keys include the following standard punctuation
marks:
! ' " . , ; : ? They also include the following mathematical symbols:
+ - / * t = (note
that
a slash is used for division,
an
asterisk for
multiplication,
and
an
up
arrow
for exponentiation).
Other
special symbols
available
on
the VIC 20 include # $ & @ % £

[]-.
Graphic
Keys
The VIC
20
also has
62
graphic symbols
that
may be accessed through
the
SHIFT
or
COMMODORE
function keys. Using these graphic symbols, you
can create fairly sophisticated display drawings.
The graphic symbols
and
their names are listed in Table
1-1.
Similar
symbols have been grouped
to
make graphic options immediately obvious.
Note
that
the square enclosing each of the graphic symbols shown in Table
1-1
and
Figure
1-3
is
not
actually
part
of
the
symbol,
but
has been added to
show the symbol's location within its 8 X 8 grid.
