Using Internal and External Speakers
The integrated stereo speakers support sound output for
WAV file and MIDI playback, and audio from the
optional CD-ROM drive. They also support external audio
input devices such as a CD player, tape deck, stereo tuner,
or wave synthesizer connected to the computer through
the stereo line-in jack. Headphones or external speakers
can be connected to the computer through the stereo
speaker/headphone jack.
The internal stereo speakers are located on the front left
and right corners of the computer 1. When external
speakers or headphones are connected to the stereo
speaker/headphone jack 2, the internal speakers are
disabled.
External speakers:
■
Provide more separation for the left and right audio channels.
■
Produce more volume with amplified speakers.
■
Produce higher quality sound.
CAUTION:
Use only a 3.5-mm stereo plug in the stereo
speaker/headphone jack. A mono plug can result in damage
to the computer.
