Under most circumstances, BRIC-Link requires an IP path in both direcons for successful connecons, even when
audio is being sent only one-way. For networks that provide data only in one direcon, it is possible to use 
mode to establish and maintain these links. This secon describes how to set that up.
The codec has several compability modes under the  channel mode. The units default to a mode that
is compable with the  PC-based encoder. This must be changed on both codecs.
On the BRIC-Link, click the  tab and select 
Find  and choose to edit the 
Change this seng to Standard and click 

The following seng instrucons apply to both codecs in the link (encoder and decoder):

Under , nd the  entry. Disable the return channel and
click  (or  on ACCESS Portable). This will make sure that no channel will be set up in the direcon to the
encoder.

Connecons of this type must be established from the encoding side of the link. A new Prole must be built that
uses the  channel mode under the Prole Editor. Choose an outgoing encoder along with any other
special aributes in the prole editor. Name the Prole something descripve like “Simplex.
Next, create an outgoing remote entry in the address book. Apply the new prole to that entry. Any connecon
made with that entry will connect in a unidireconal fashion.

A remote entry using a unidireconal prole can sll ulize the tools required for automac connecon.
To set up a connecon to be “always acve” (i.e., reconnect in the case of power outage or network failure), choose
that connecon on the tab as the  locaon.
To trigger the connecon when an external contact is closed, choose the connecon under one of the 
 sengs on the tab.
