Usage Features
Reading Angle:
To ensure accurate reading, point the scanner at the barcode from a distance of 5-10 cm. It is crucial not to hold the scanner at a 90° angle to the code, as this may prevent it from reading correctly. The laser beam must completely cover the barcode to avoid errors.
Settings and Configurations:
The manual includes detailed instructions for configuring various aspects of the barcode reader using specific barcodes provided within the document. These settings are accessible at the end of the manual, after all language sections.
- Language Setting: Users can select the desired language for the scanner's output, including American English, German, Italian, French, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Finnish, Dutch, Hungarian, and Virtual Keyboard (Windows only).
- Restore Factory Default Setting: A dedicated barcode allows users to reset the device to its original factory settings.
- Reading Version Information: A barcode is provided to read the current firmware version of the device.
- Interface Configuration: The scanner can be configured for USB, Virtual COM, or RS-232 interfaces.

- STX and ETX Configuration: Settings for Start of Text (STX) and End of Text (ETX) characters can be configured as Forbidden or STX+ETX.
- Reading White Barcodes: The ability to read white barcodes can be enabled or forbidden.
- UPC/EAN Conversion: Options are available for converting UPC-E to UPC-A and UPC-A to EAN-13, which can be allowed or forbidden.
- Code 39 Full ASCII: This feature can be allowed or forbidden.
- Code 32: This feature can be allowed or forbidden.
- EAN-13 Extracode: Configuration for 2-digit and 5-digit extracodes for EAN-13 can be allowed or forbidden.
- Prefix and Suffix: The device supports adding prefixes and suffixes to the scanned data. Users can enable and configure these using specific numerical codes found in Appendix 1 (Number Setting Code) and character values from Appendix 3 (Character Value Sheet) and Appendix 4 (Character Comparison Table). Options include "Only output barcode data", "Output Suffix", "Output Prefix", and "Output suffix and prefix".
