Operation and Installation Manual for
COPA Nixa12 Hermetic Water Heater
9.0. Flue Connection
9.1. Horizontal Flue Connection
1- Do not use the water heater before connecting the waste gas flue pipe to the water
heater as it may pose a poisoning risk from carbon monoxide gas in case of the
blockage or leakage of the pipe. Therefore, inspect the waste gas flue pipe carefully
and then move on to the installation of the flue.
2- Install the pipe to the hole previously drilled in the wall so that the fresh air/flue gas
outlet faces outside. Connect the elbow part so that its ends are aligned with the
relevant water heater flue and pipe.
3- Fill the hole that was opened for the flue gas pipe on the wall with a fire-resistant
material and insulate it. Make sure that the insulation is performed properly and that
the pipe shall not fall in the future.
4- If the hermetic flue passes through a wall, the wall shall be made of non-combustible
material, or a cushioning made of non-combustible material shall be applied between
the flue and the wall.
5- Hermetic flue is a type of flue that is mounted to be hung directly outdoors. It cannot
be connected to separate or shared flues of the buildings.
6- The flue outlet shall be at least 600 mm away from all surrounding buildings.
7- The flue pipe shall be installed at an angle of 1° slightly downwards. In this way, the
ingress of rain into the chimney or the back-flow of condensed water in the flue gas
shall be prevented.
