Note: Observe the instructions set out in chapter 2.3 above
77..11..11 SSaaffeettyy iinnssttrruuccttiioonnss ffoorr ffiittttiinngg::
1. Remove any existing magnesium protection anode before installing the
CORREX
®
UP system (in case of retrofitting).
2. Never connect the plug-in potentiostat to magnesium protection anodes.
3. The titanium anode must not be in direct contact with internal tank
components or with the tank wall. The quality of the insulation must be
checked with a suitable measuring instrument (e.g digital multimeter or
CorroScout
®
500). During this measurement, the titanium anode must not
be immersed in water.
4. The function of the CORREX
®
UP system is only ensured if all electrical
parts are safely connected by metallic conductors. The quality of the
galvanic connections must be checked with a suitable measuring
instrument (e.g digital multimeter or CorroScout
®
500).
5. Use only the original connecting cables
6. Never extend the connecting cables: otherwise risk of connection with
wrong polarity and thus of increased corrosion.
7. Check before commissioning that the cables are not interchanged.
Interchanging the cables results in increased corrosion.
8. For optimal results, the sealing ring needs a 60° chamfer at the sleeve.
NNoottee::
If the CORREX
®
UP system is installed by way of retrofitting, any exi-
sting threaded sleeves can be used, if necessary with reducers (galvanized
steel). Any tampering with system components such as the connecting cable
results in the expiration of the legal warranty.

The illustration on the fold-out page (chapter 1.1) of this manual shows an
example of the installation procedure for a CORREX
®
UP system with screw
fitting set. The actual situation depends on tank type, tank size, type of anode
and connecting cable used.
NNoottee::
Leave the fold-out page (chapter 1.1) open when installing the system.
The following parts are needed for installation:
1. Titanium anode with screw fitting G ¾"-, G 1"-, G 1¼"
or with NPT thread
((11))
2. Connecting cable
((33))
3. Plug-in potentiostat
((22))
