This document is an instruction manual for the COSTWAY Ice Cream Maker, Model EP23604.

Function Description

The COSTWAY Ice Cream Maker is designed for household use to create various types of ice cream, sorbet, and frozen yogurt. It features a built-in compressor for pre-freezing ingredients, eliminating the need to pre-freeze the bowl. The device supports three working modes: ICE CREAM, COOLING ONLY, and MIXING ONLY, offering flexibility in preparation. It also includes a "Keep Warm" process that can maintain the ice cream's temperature for up to 1 hour after completion, and a motor self-protection function that stops the mixing motor if it becomes harder, or if the temperature detecting its temperature to ensure the life of the motor. The machine allows for adding ingredients through a refill lid during operation.

Usage Features

The ice cream maker is operated via several buttons on its LCD display:

  • [POWER] Button: Activates the machine and enters the setting mode. Pressing it during operation will stop the machine.
  • [Menu] Button: Selects one of the three working modes: ICE CREAM, COOLING ONLY, or MIXING ONLY.
  • [TIME+] Button: Increases the working time by 1 minute with each press. Holding it down for over 2 seconds increases the time rapidly. The maximum time is 60 minutes.
  • [TIME-] Button: Decreases the working time by 1 minute with each press. Holding it down for over 2 seconds decreases the time rapidly. The minimum time is 5 minutes.
  • [START/PAUSE] Button: Starts the working mode or pauses it. During operation, pressing this button will pause the mixing and the time countdown.

Preparation Steps:

  1. Cleanliness: Thoroughly wash all parts that will come into contact with the ice cream (fixed bowl, removable bowl, mixing blade, transparent lid, refill lid, measuring cup, and spoon).
  2. Power Cord: Ensure the power cord is unplugged before preparation.
  3. Ingredients: Prepare recipe ingredients from your own recipe or from the recipe booklet. Do not pre-freeze the bowl for hours in a freezer as the machine has a built-in compressor.
  4. Pour Ingredients: Pour the well-prepared recipe ingredients and warm water into the removable bowl, then have a uniform mixing.
  5. Insert Bowl: Place the removable bowl into the fixed bowl, ensuring it fits well.
  6. Insert Mixing Blade: Place the mixing blade into the removable bowl, ensuring it fits well with the motor axis.
  7. Attach Lid: Put the transparent lid onto the machine and lock it anticlockwise.
  8. Power On: Touch the [POWER] button to electrify the machine.
  9. Select Mode: Touch the [MENU] button to choose the working mode.
  10. Set Time: Touch the [TIME+] or [TIME-] button to choose the working time.
  11. Start: Touch the [START/PAUSE] button to start working.
  12. Add Ingredients (Optional): During operation, open the refill cover to add favorite ingredients.
  13. Finish: After the operation is over, turn off the machine first, then pull the removable bowl out.

Operation Features:

  • Keep Warm Process: If there is no change within 10 minutes after the machine has entered the keep warm process, touching all buttons is not available except the [POWER] button. If operation time or model is needed to be changed, you can touch [POWER] button to enter the state of setting the model or time. To avoid melting when the ice cream is not placed well in time, the following design is supported: After the ice cream is finished and without any other operation, the machine will start up the keep warm function automatically, which can keep warm for 1 hour. One hour later, machine will enter standby state.
  • Motor Self-Protection Function: When the ice cream becomes harder, the mixing motor might be blocked. Then the motor protection device makes the mixing motor stop working by detecting its temperature to ensure the life of the motor.
  • Controlling the Volume of Ingredients: To avoid overflow and waste, please make sure that the ingredients do not exceed 60% of capacity of the removable bowl (Ice cream expands when being formed).
  • Storage of Ice Cream: Remove finished ice cream into another container using a plastic scoop or a wooden spoon, avoiding metal scoops to prevent scratching the removable bowl.

Maintenance Features

  1. Power Disconnection: The plug must be removed before cleaning to avoid electric shock.
  2. Mixing Blade: Take out the mixing blade, wipe it with a dampened cloth.
  3. Removable Bowl: Take out the removable bowl, clean it with a dampened soft cloth.
  4. Transparent Lid and Refill Lid: Wipe the transparent lid and refill lid with a dampened cloth.
  5. Body and Other Places: Remove the dirty on the body or other places with a dampened cloth, and do not pour water on cord, plug and ventilation, immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  6. Drying: Allow drying thoroughly with a dry cloth, then return the component to the home position.

Important Notices for Safety and Maintenance:

  • Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury.
  • Read all instructions before using.
  • Ensure the voltage is compliant with the voltage range stated on the rating label, and ensure the earthing of the socket is in good condition.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not upend this product or incline it over a 45°C angle.
  • To protect against risk of electric shock, do not pour water on cord, plug and ventilation, immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Unplug the appliance after using or before cleaning.
  • Keep the appliance 8cm from other objects to ensure good heat releasing.
  • Do not use accessories not recommended by the Manufacturer.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
  • Do not use the appliance close by flames, hot plates or stoves.
  • Do not switch on the power button frequently (ensure 5min. interval at least) to avoid the damage of compressor.
  • Metal sheet or other electric objects are not allowed to be inserted into the appliance to avoid fire and short circuit.
  • When taking out the ice cream, do not knock the barrel or edge of barrel to protect the barrel from damage.
  • Do not switch on the power before install well the barrel or blender blade.
  • Do not remove the blender blade when the appliance is on working.
  • Never clean with scouring powders or hard implements.
  • Please keep the instruction manual.
  • Do not store explosive substances such as aerosol cans with a flammable propellant in this appliance.
  • This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments; farm houses and by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; bed and breakfast type environments; catering and similar non-retail applications.
