3) Personal safety
• Pay attention to what you do and use common sense when using a power tool.
Never use a power tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol
or medicine. A moments inattention when using a power tool could result in a
serious personal injury.
• Wear protective clothing. Always wear safety glasses. The use of personal
protective equipment such as dust masks, non-slip footwear, helmets and ear
defenders where appropriate will reduce the risk of personal injury.
• Avoid accidental starts. Make sure that the power switch is set to OFF before
plugging the tool into a wall socket. Carrying a power tool around with your finger
on the power switch or plugging a power tool into a wall socket when the power
switch is set to ON invites accidents.
• Remove all tools/keys before switching on the power tool. A service tool left on a
moving part of a power tool could result in a serious injury.
• Do not overreach. Make sure you stand steady and well balanced at all times.
This will allow you to have more control in unexpected situations.
• Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery. Keep hair,
clothes and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair
can become caught in moving parts.
• If equipment for the extraction/collection of dust is available, make sure that it is
connected and used correctly. The use of such equipment can vastly reduce dust
related hazards.
• If for some reason you must use a power tool in a wet environment, always
connect it to the mains via an earth-fault circuit breaker such as an RCD (residual
current device). Using an RCD significantly reduces the chances of you receiving
an electric shock.
4) Specific safety instructions for impact wrenches
Hold the product by its insulated gripping surfaces when using the tool where it can
come in contact with hidden wiring or its own mains lead. Contact with live wires will
make the metal parts of the tool live and could shock the user.
Product safety symbols
Read the entire instruction manual.
Always use ear defenders and safety goggles or a visor.
