This document is an owner's manual for the Pasadena 30"x30" Fire Pit Table, manufactured by Four Seasons Courtyard.

Function Description

The Pasadena 30"x30" Fire Pit Table is an outdoor heating appliance designed to provide warmth and ambiance. It operates on propane gas and is intended for outdoor use only, in a ventilated space, and not in any enclosed area. The unit features a burner that produces a flame, which can be controlled via a knob. It includes a firebowl for lava rocks (or pumice stones/LavaGlass™) and a lid for covering the fire pit when not in use.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Fuel Type: Propane gas only (LP-cylinder, sold separately). Not intended for natural gas or solid fuels/charcoal.
  • LP-Cylinder Dimensions: Diameter 12 inches, height 18 inches. Must have a collar to protect the gas valve.
  • LP-Cylinder Fill Level: Do not fill over 80 percent full.
  • LP-Cylinder System: Must be set up for vapor withdrawal.
  • Max. Inlet Supply Pressure: 11 in w.c. (2.74kPa) or 250psi.
  • Flame Height: Yellow/blue color, between 2-10 inches in height.
  • Lava Rocks/Pumice Stones/LavaGlass™: Do not use more than 1/4 inch depth above burner holes.

Usage Features

  • Outdoor Use Only: Must be used outdoors in a ventilated space.
  • Ignition: Features an electronic igniter. To light, ensure the control knob is "OFF," open the propane tank valve, push and hold the electronic igniter, then push and turn the control knob to "HIGH" for 15 seconds.
  • Flame Control: Flame intensity can be adjusted between "LOW" and "HIGH" positions using the control knob.
  • Extinguishing: Turn the control knob clockwise to "HIGH," let it pop up, then continue turning to "OFF." Close the cylinder valve on the propane gas tank for long-term storage.
  • Gas Leak Detection: If gas is smelled, shut off gas, extinguish any open flame, and if odor persists, call the gas supplier or fire department. A soap and water mixture can be used to check for leaks (bubbles indicate a leak).
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Do not store or use flammable vapors/liquids near the appliance.
    • An LP-cylinder not connected for use shall not be stored near the appliance.
    • Stay away from the burner when igniting.
    • Keep away from the unit for the first 20 minutes after igniting for the first time, as lava rocks/pumice stones/LavaGlass™ could pop out.
    • Ensure lava rocks/pumice stones/LavaGlass™ are completely dry before use.
    • Do not operate until all parts are fully assembled.
    • Do not move the unit while hot.
    • Never leave the unit unattended while in use.
    • Not intended for cooking.
    • Keep flammable items away.
    • Do not sit or rest hands/feet on the heating unit.
    • Never place hands/fingers on the upper portion of the unit while in use.
    • Keep electrical cords and fuel supply hose away from heated surfaces.
    • Children and adults should be alerted to high surface temperatures and supervised.
    • Do not hang clothing or other flammable materials on or near the appliance.
    • If the flame goes out, turn off the gas valve, wait 5 minutes, then repeat the lighting procedure.
    • Do not add water to the unit.
    • Do not operate if any part has been under water.
    • Do not disconnect any part while in use.
    • Do not store a spare propane tank on or near the unit.
    • Do not operate on a boat or vehicle.
    • Always remove the protective cover before operating.
    • Do not set the protective cover over the unit until it is turned off and completely cooled down.
    • Keep the gas tank at least 5 feet away from the unit when lit (if external tank).
    • Do not use on plastic or artificial wood decks.
    • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Produces carbon monoxide, use only in open, outdoor spaces.

Maintenance Features

  • General Maintenance: Disconnect the propane gas tank before any maintenance. Keep the heating item clear of combustible materials.
  • Burner Inspection: Visually inspect the burner for obstructions and keep the tank enclosure free of debris.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft brush to remove mild stains, loose dirt, and soil after the burner and lava rocks/pumice stones/LavaGlass™ have completely cooled. Wipe down with a soft cloth.
  • Stains/Discoloration: Harsh weather conditions may cause stubborn stains, discoloration, and rust pitting. Avoid contact with powder or solvent on painted or plastic components.
  • Storage: Keep the heating unit stored away from direct sunlight. If storing indoors, disconnect the propane tank from the gas valve. Always place the lid (if applicable) or protective cover on the heating item when not in use.
  • Annual Inspection: The appliance should be inspected and cleaned regularly (at least annually) by a qualified service person. More frequent cleaning may be required as necessary.
  • Hose Inspection: Do not use the heating unit without inspecting the gas hose for signs of wear or abrasion.
  • Replacement Parts: Only use the regulator and hose assembly provided. Replacement parts must be supplied directly by Summerville Furnishings Inc.
  • Warranty: The manufacturer's warranty is voided by modification of the unit/components (including the gas valve assembly), use of non-approved components, or use/installation other than what is listed in the manual.
