VOICE MAIL
VOICE MAIL
How it works:
Voice Mail takes messages while you are on another call,
not at home or simply unable to get to the phone. It’s your own
personalized answering service built right into your telephone.
Getting Started:
In order to establish your voice mail service you will need to make
your first call into the Cox Voice Mail system from your Cox Digital
Telephone line. You will then be guided through a mailbox tutorial
that will assist you in creating your password and recording your
name and personal greeting.
Voice Mail Setup:
1. Note: Initial setup must be done from your Cox Digital
Telephone line.
2. From your home, dial your 10-digit Cox Digital
Telephone number.
3. Next, you will be prompted to enter your password.
Your temporary password is
or COXCOM
.
4. After entering your temporary password you will hear a greeting
from Cox that says, “Welcome to your mailbox…” You will then
be guided through a step-by-step tutorial that will help you to
personalize your voice mailbox and create a new password.
Creating a Password:
1. Select a new password that is at least 4-digits long. Try to
create a new password that is easy for you to remember, but
not easily guessed by others. You can change your password
anytime by going to the Administrative options under the
Personal Options menu.
Note: your new password cannot contain:
1. Sequential numbers like
.
2. Repetitive numbers like
.
3. A number sequence identical to the last 4-digits of your
home telephone number.
