Wing Nuts
A. Remove the wing nuts and carriage bolts
securing the upper handle to the lower
handle.
Pivot the upper handle
upward.
A. Insert the T-bolts removed in Step 1B
through the handle brackets to secure
the handle in place.
A. Hold blade control handle against upper handle.
B. Slowly pull starter rope handle from engine and
slip starter rope into the rope guide.
C. Tighten rope guide wing knob.
D. Use cable tie to secure cables to lower handle.

B. Remove T-bolts from
the handle brackets.

to lower handle with
wing nuts (on outside)
and carriage bolts

Pull upward on the
handle until the holes
in lower handle line up
with the holes
in the handle bracket.

Summary

Handle Assembly and Control Setup

Remove Handle Fasteners

Remove wing nuts, carriage bolts, and T-bolts securing the upper handle to the lower handle.

Pivot and Align Upper Handle

Pivot the upper handle upward and pull it to align holes with the handle bracket.

Secure Handle and Connect Controls

Reinsert T-bolts, secure with wing nuts and carriage bolts, and connect starter rope and cables.

Engine Preparation and Starting

Add Engine Oil

Pour the entire contents of the SAE 10W 30 oil bottle into the oil fill and check the level.

Add Fuel

Fill the tank with fresh gas to within 1/2-inch of the top, avoiding E85 or fuel with >10% ethanol.

Set Fuel Valve and Start Engine

Rotate fuel valve to Open, engage blade control, and pull starter rope for engine ignition.
