If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine is running erratically, start by checking the spark plug boot to ensure it's tightly connected. Replace stale fuel with fresh gasoline. Make sure the vent in the gas cap isn't plugged. If there's water or dirt in the fuel system, run the engine until it stops, then refill with fresh fuel. For a dirty air cleaner, refer to the Air Cleaner section in the Engine Maintenance part of the manual. If the fuel line is blocked, contact a Sears Parts & Repair Center to have it cleaned.
