What causes a Craftsman R100 Lawn Mower engine to idle rough?
    • S
      Sara MooreAug 17, 2025
A rough idle in your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine can be caused by a spark plug that is fouled, faulty, or has a gap that is too wide; replace the spark plug and set the correct gap. Another potential cause is a dirty air cleaner; replace the air cleaner element and/or clean the pre-cleaner.

Why does my Craftsman R100 have an uneven cut?
    • D
      danaweberAug 20, 2025
An uneven cut with your Craftsman Lawn Mower can be due to several reasons. The deck might not be leveled properly, so perform a side-to-side deck adjustment. A dull blade can also cause an uneven cut, so sharpen or replace it. Also, check the tire pressure in all four tires to ensure they are even.

What to do if my Craftsman Lawn Mower engine runs erratically?
    • A
      andrew08Aug 28, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine is running erratically, first, ensure the choke is deactivated. Check that the spark plug wires are securely connected. A blocked fuel line or stale fuel could also be the problem; replace the fuel line, fill the tank with fresh gasoline, and replace the fuel filter. Also, the vent in the gas cap might be plugged, so clear it or replace the cap if damaged. Water or dirt in the fuel system can cause issues; drain the fuel tank and refill it with clean, fresh gasoline. Lastly, a dirty air cleaner can cause this issue, so replace the air cleaner paper element or clean the foam pre-cleaner if your mower has one.

How to improve mulching with my Craftsman R100 Lawn Mower?
    • C
      Christian CookSep 4, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower isn't mulching grass effectively, make sure the engine speed isn't too low by placing the throttle in the FAST position. Avoid mulching when the grass is wet. If the grass is excessively high, mow once at a high cutting height, then mow again at the desired height, or make a narrower cutting swath. A dull blade can also cause poor mulching, so sharpen or replace the blade.

Why is my Craftsman Lawn Mower vibrating so much?
    • A
      Anita AdamsSep 8, 2025
Excessive vibration in your Craftsman Lawn Mower could be due to a loose or unbalanced cutting blade; tighten the blade and spindle. It could also be caused by a damaged or bent cutting blade, in which case you should replace the blade.

Why won't my Craftsman Lawn Mower start?
    • G
      Gregory BlackNov 12, 2025
If your Craftsman Lawn Mower engine won't start, several factors could be the cause. Make sure the PTO/Blade Engage lever is disengaged (OFF), the parking brake is engaged, and the spark plug wires are connected. Also, check that the Throttle/Choke control lever is in the FAST position, or that the choke is activated. The fuel tank may be empty or contain stale fuel, so fill it with fresh gas. A blocked fuel line or faulty spark plug could also be the culprit; replace the fuel line and filter, or clean/replace the spark plug. If the engine is flooded, crank it with the throttle in the FAST position. Finally, check for blown fuses and replace them if necessary, and ensure all safety switches are properly engaged by confirming the seat is in the correct position and the deck chute/mulch plug...
