Prepare the toaster for first-time use by running it empty.
Place the appliance on a stable surface and plug it into the wall socket.
Adjust browning, insert bread, lower lever, and toast until ready.
Use the reheat button to warm previously toasted bread.
Use the defrost button to thaw frozen bread.
Remove crumbs, clean exterior with a damp cloth, and avoid immersion.
