Why is the audio noisy on my Cross Technologies 450R Receiver?
    • L
      Laurie AllenJul 26, 2025
If the audio is noisy but otherwise sounds normal, it could be due to transmission path noise. To improve noise performance, set both the Compressor and Expander to IN. If they are already IN, the system may be operating below the required threshold, so check other system components and antenna pointing. Also, in non-video systems with a subcarrier frequency less than 4.5MHz, ensure the high pass filter in the receiver is set to OUT.

What to do if the Cross Technologies 450R audio sounds noisy with tones, chirps, or buzz?
    • R
      rodriguezandreaAug 2, 2025
If your audio sounds noisy and includes tones, chirps, or buzz, the channel spacing may be too close. The 450 requires 280 kHz between adjacent channel center frequencies to meet all specifications. Also, the subcarrier channel might be co-located with a harmonic of a video signal component. Try shifting subcarrier frequencies. The total baseband power might be too high, leading to inter-modulation products, so reduce the level of the subcarriers and/or video. In systems with video, ensure the high pass filter in the receiver is set to OUT.

What does CXR alarm on Cross Technologies 450R LCD display mean?
    • A
      Anna Delgado DDSAug 8, 2025
The receiver might be set to an incorrect frequency, or the transmit site may not be operating on the specified frequency. Also, the receiver SQUELCH adjustment may need to be changed. The subcarrier transmitter for the specified frequency may not be operating or may be at a reduced carrier level.

What does AFC alarm on Cross Technologies 450R Receiver LCD display mean?
    • R
      Ryan LopezAug 13, 2025
Any of the situations that cause a CXR alarm may also cause an AFC alarm under some conditions. The receiver may be tuned to a wide deviation channel that it cannot track.

What does NV Memory Error mean on Cross Technologies 450R?
    • K
      Kevin MorganAug 20, 2025
An NV Memory Error indicates a checksum error was found after reading the non-volatile memory device. You can still use the unit by pressing the Program/Execute switch to proceed. However, it should be returned for repair as soon as convenient, since a power interruption may cause loss of the unit's programmed settings.
