*The compressor package is designed to operate in an ambient temperature range from
45 F to 100 F (7 C to 38 C). If the temperature is below 45 F (7 C), the increased viscosity of
the oil could prevent start-up and/or cause poor lubrication. Operation above 100 F (38 C) will
cause overheating and subsequent problems. If a unit must be subjected to either extreme, written
authorization from Cryomech, Inc. must be granted.
5.2.5. Safety Devices
Several safety devices are located inside the helium compressor package and on the cold head.
They are monitored by the helium compressor package’s control panel to maintain a safe working
environment and protect the helium compressor package and cold head from developing extreme
conditions that can cause damage, see Section 7 for further detail. The safety devices listed below
are not monitored by the helium compressor package’s control panel.
