Do you have a question about the CST/BERGER LASERMARK LLD20 and is the answer not in the manual?
The CST/berger LLD20 Laser Line Detector is designed for the rapid detection of pulsed laser beams, making it an essential tool for professionals working with line lasers. Its robust construction and intuitive interface ensure reliable performance in various working conditions.
The LLD20 operates by detecting pulsed laser beams emitted by a compatible line laser. The device features a reception area (3) that captures the laser light, and a display (1) that provides visual feedback on the laser beam's position relative to the detector's center mark (12). This allows users to quickly and accurately align the detector with the laser plane.
The display (1) is equipped with seven separate reception channels, indicating the detector's position relative to the laser level. As the laser beam approaches the center mark (12), more bars appear on the direction indicators (8 and 9), providing a clear visual guide for alignment. An audible signal, controlled by the sound signal button (6), further aids in positioning, with different tones indicating whether the detector needs to be moved up or down, and a continuous tone signifying perfect alignment.
The device offers adjustable measurement accuracy, selectable via the precision adjustment button (5), allowing users to choose between "medium" and "coarse" settings based on the task's requirements. A memory function stores the last detected laser beam position if the beam leaves the reception area, which can be useful for tracking. An electronic filter protects the measuring tool from bright sunlight and electromagnetic interference, ensuring consistent performance in challenging environments.
To operate the LLD20, simply press the On/Off button (4). Upon activation, a loud audible signal will sound, so it is recommended to keep the device away from your ears or other people during startup to prevent hearing damage. The "medium" accuracy setting is always selected by default. To turn off the device, press the On/Off button (4) again. The detector automatically switches off after approximately 5-8 minutes of inactivity or if no laser beam is detected within the reception area (3) for the same duration, conserving battery life.
For alignment, direct the reception area (3) towards the line laser. Slowly move the detector up or down until the direction indicators (8 and 9) appear on the display (1) and/or an audible signal is heard. The sensitivity can be adjusted using button (5) to match working conditions and desired accuracy. A short audio signal (if the speaker is on) indicates upward movement when indicator (9) is lit, while a long audio signal indicates downward movement when indicator (8) is lit. A continuous tone and the center mark (12) on the display (1) confirm that the center of the reception area (3) has been reached.
The device is powered by a 9V alkaline-manganese battery. The battery status indicator (13) illuminates when the battery needs to be replaced. For prolonged storage, it is crucial to remove the battery to prevent corrosion and self-discharge.
The LLD20 requires minimal maintenance. Keep the measuring tool clean at all times by wiping off dirt with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid immersing the device in water or other liquids, and do not use cleaning agents or solvents, as these can damage the tool.
Protect the measuring tool from moisture and direct sunlight. It should not be exposed to extreme temperatures or sudden temperature changes. For instance, avoid leaving it in a car for extended periods. If the device has been subjected to significant temperature fluctuations, allow it to acclimatize to the ambient temperature before use to maintain measurement accuracy.
In the event of a malfunction, despite careful manufacturing and testing, repairs should only be carried out by an authorized Bosch power tool service center. For disposal, the measuring tool, accessories, and packaging should be sorted for environmentally friendly recycling. In EU countries, the device must not be disposed of with household waste but collected separately for ecological recycling in accordance with Directive 2002/96/EC. Similarly, defective or used batteries must be recycled according to Directive 91/157/EEC.
