Thechokecontrolknobislocatedon the lowerleftsideof the dash
paneland is activatedby pullingoutward.Activatingthechoke
controlclosesthechokeplateonthe carburetorandaids instarting
theengine.
PTO (Blade Engage) Control
Switch
ToengagetheelectricPTOand providepower
tothecuttingdeck,pulloutwardonthe PTO
controlswitchknob.Pushthe switchknob
inwardtodisengagethePTOandstopthe
cuttingdeck.
NOTE: ThePTOControlSwitchmustbein the
disengaged(OFF)positionwhen startingthe
engine.

Parking Brake Lever
NOTE: Theparkingbrakemustbeset if the
operatorleavestheseatwiththe enginerunning;
otherwisetheenginewillautomaticallyshutoff.
• Tosetthe parkingbrake,fullydepressthe brake
pedaland pushthe bottomof parkingbrake
leverinward. Seethe imageto the rightfor
parkingbrakeidentification.Holdtheleverin
whileremovingyourfootfromthe brakepedal.
Bothparkingbrakeleverand brakepedalwill
staydepressed.
• To releasethe parkingbrake,depressthebrakepedalslightly.
Theparkingbrakeleverwillthenreturnto itsoriginalposition.
IMPORTANT:Alwayssettheparkingbrakewhenleavingthe
tractorunattended.
Forward Control Pedal
Theforwardcontrolpedalis locatedonthe rightsideof thetractor,
atthefrontofthe rightrunningboard.Depresstheforwardcontrol
pedaltocausethe tractorto travelinthe forwarddirection.The for-
wardgroundspeedofthetractoris directlyaffectedbythedistance
thepedalisdepressed.Thefurtherthepedalis depressed,the
fasterthetractorwilltravel.Thetractorwillslowandthepedalwill
returntoitsoriginalpositionwhenreleased.
Reverse Control Pedal
Thereversecontrolpedalis locatedin the rightfrontrunningboard
rearwardoftheforwardcontrolpedal.Depressthe reversecontrol
pedaltocausethe tractorto travelin reverse.The furtherthe pedal
isdepressed,thefasterthetractorwilltravel.Thetractorwill slow
andthe pedalwill returnto itsoriginalpositionwhenreleased.
Brake Pedal
Thebrakepedalis locatedat the frontof the leftrunningboardand
isusedforquickstops,or settingthe parkingbrake.Thispedal
mustbe FULLYdepressedto activatethe safetyinterlockswitch
whenstartingthetractor.
Deck Lift Lever
Thedecklift leveris locatedin the rightfenderandis usedto
changethecuttingheightofthemowerdeck. Thecuttingheights
rangefrom 1-1/2"to 4".Eachof the six indexnotchesrepresentan
approximately1/2"adjustmentto the deckheight.To use,grasp
thelift leverhandleandpullslightlyupward(rearward)while pivot-
ingtheleverinwardandout of its indexnotch.Movethe liftleveras
necessaryto place inthe notchbestsuitedfor yourapplication.
Afterchangingthecuttingheightofthedeck,youmustcheck
thepositionof thedeckfrontgaugewheels.Theyshouldbe
approximately1/2-inchabovethegroundwhenthetractorisona
smooth,flat surfacesuchas a driveway.Referto "Maintenance&
Adjustments"laterinthis manual
Cup Holder
Thetractor'scupholderislocatedon thefendertotheleftof the
seat.
Seat Adjustment Lever
Theseatadjustmentleveris onthe left sideof the seat. Use
thislevertoadjusttheseatforwardor rearwardto a comfortable
operatingposition.Seethe "Maintenance& Adjustments"section
laterin thismanualfor instructions.
Fuel Fill Cap and Fuel Level Window
Thefuelfillcapislocatedin thecenterof the rearfender.Pivotthe
seatforwardto fullyaccessthefuel fill cap andfill the fueltank.
Turnthefillcapapproximately1/4turn andpullupwardto remove.
Pushthecapdownwardonthe fuel tankfill neckandturn 1/4turn
clockwisetotighten.
Theleveloffuelin the fueltankcan beviewedthroughthefuel
levelwindowinthe rearhitchplate.
Cargo Net
Convenientlylocatedonthe tractor'sdash panel,the cargonet can
be usedto storepersonalitemswhileoperatingthe lawntractor.
Hydro Transmission Bypass Rods
Thehydrotransmissionbypassrodsarelocatedatthebackofthe
tractorabovetherearhitchplate.Whenengaged,theselevers
opena hydropumpbypassvalveineach transmissionwhich
allowsthetractorto bemanuallypushedshortdistances.See
the"Maintenance& Adjustments"sectionlater inthis manualfor
instructions.
