Overview

The GT wireless eSports Racing Wheel is a high-performance racing wheel designed for simulation use. This user guide provides essential information for its setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

Function Description:

The GT wireless eSports Racing Wheel is a sophisticated input device for racing simulations, offering a realistic and immersive driving experience. It features a comprehensive array of controls, including toggle switches, encoders, and paddle shifters, all designed for precise input during gameplay. The wheel operates wirelessly, connecting to a SimuCUBE base, and is powered by an internal rechargeable battery. Its universal hub allows for flexible installation with various adapters or direct connection to an FFB (Force Feedback) base. The design emphasizes user adjustability for optimal comfort and performance, with customizable paddle positions and shifter activation points.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Battery: 3.7V 1500mAh LiPo battery.
  • Battery Life: Approximately 40 hours of use on a full charge.
  • Charging Time: Approximately 2 hours.
  • Charging Method: Via supplied coiled USB cable connected to any USB port. The wheel can be used while charging.
  • Mounting Hub: Universal hub with M5x0.8 metric holes (blue) and 5.5mm through holes (gray).
  • Bolt Pattern: Available in 70mm (outer) and 50.8mm (inner) bolt patterns. Through holes are rotated by 180°.
  • Paddle Adjustment Tools: T10 drive for paddle length and reach adjustment.
  • Shifter Activation Point Adjustment Tools: Torx T10 drive and a small Philips screwdriver (both provided).

Usage Features:

  • Interface Overview:
    • Front Controls:
      • Left Toggle Status LED
      • Right Toggle Status LED
      • L Toggle
      • R Toggle
      • Downshift Paddle
      • Upshift Paddle
      • Two 2-Way Toggles
      • Four Encoders
    • Back Controls:
      • Power Button
      • Wireless Antenna
  • Syncing to SimuCUBE:
    • Discovery Mode: Turn on the wheel by pressing the power button. The wheel enters discovery mode and announces itself to the SimuCUBE base for 30 seconds.
    • Manual Selection (First Time Connection): Select the wireless button plate module from the SimuCUBE configuration software (True Drive). Double-click the device name to establish the connection.
    • Automatic Connection: Check the "connect automatically to paired devices" box. The wheel will connect as soon as it enters discovery mode or by pressing both paddles for 5 seconds.
    • Closing Connection: Press both paddle shifters for 5 seconds or simply turn off the wheel.
  • Steering Wheel Status (Blinking LED on page 3):
    • Discovery Mode: Continuous blinking at a high frequency.
    • Connected to SimuCUBE: 3 blinks at a medium frequency.
    • Disconnected from SimuCUBE: 10 blinks at a slow frequency.
  • Battery Information and LED Indicator Status (on page 3):
    • Off: Battery OK.
    • Red: Battery low, needs recharging (approximately 2 hours of use remaining).
    • Blue: Battery fully charged.
  • Charging: Connect the steering wheel to your PC using the provided coiled cable. The wheel connector is keyed and fits only one way. Secure the plug by turning the retaining ring until it stops rotating, without applying excessive force.
  • Wheel Installation: The universal hub on the back of the wheel body allows for installation of various adapters or direct connection to an FFB base. Both 70mm and 50.8mm bolt patterns are supported. Through holes are rotated by 180°, which might require flipping your adapter. Refer to your adapter or motor manufacturer for compatibility.
  • Paddles Adjustment:
    • Length Adjustment: Loosen the two highlighted screws and slide the carbon paddle forward/backward.
    • Reach Adjustment: Loosen the two highlighted screws on the front and the two on the opposite side of the shifter. Rotate the lever body upwards/downwards. Some force may be needed.
  • Useful Tips:
    • Sticker Application: Each wheel comes with stickers and plastic tweezers. Ensure the surface is clean before applying stickers. Black and white long labels are designed for dial setting names.
    • USB Cable Installation: Wrap the USB coiled cable loosely on your FFB motor shaft/adapter to prevent strain during full opposite steering rotations.
  • Adjusting Shift Paddles Activation Point:
    • Introduction: While wheels are tested, adjustment may be needed for optimal use.
    • Accessing Trimmers: Remove the two Torx screws on the back of the wheel.
    • Adjustment Procedure: Insert a small Philips screwdriver into the screw hole (about 10mm below the surface) until it engages the trimmer. Press the paddle and hold it. Rotate the trimmer slowly clockwise or anticlockwise until the corresponding downshift (9) or upshift (10) button activates in the SimuCUBE properties panel. Do not force rotation if end points are reached. Release the shifter, remove the screwdriver, and check functionality. Repeat for the other paddle if needed. Replace Torx screws after calibration.

Maintenance Features:

  • General Safety Notice:
    • Read the manual carefully.
    • Do not open the racing wheel to avoid voiding the warranty.
    • Keep the product away from rain, moisture, and liquids (e.g., vape, cups).
    • Turn off the steering wheel if not in use for a long time.
    • Contact hello@cubecontrols.com for problems; do not attempt self-repair.
  • Shifters Maintenance:
    • Lubrication: If paddles don't return freely, apply a small drop of lubricant (sewing machine oil or similar) once a year to the points where the lever body touches the shifter base when pressed down. Also, apply a small drop to the contact point of the stainless steel pin.
    • Prohibited Products: Do not use spray products like WD40 or similar.
