Replacing Packing Continued,
15. Install the packing follower, wiper and packing
flange. Lubricate the packing flange studs (key
17) and faces of the packing flange nuts (key
18). Replace packing flange nuts.
16. For spring loaded PTFE V-Ring packing, tighten
the packing flange nuts until the shoulder on
the packing follower (Key 21) contacts the
bonnet. For other packing types, tighten the
packing flange nuts in small increments
alternately. Repeat until the maximum
recommended torque is reached, shown in
Table 3.
17. Mount the actuator on the valve body and
reconnect the valve plug stems according to
the appropriate actuator instruction manual.
