CHANGING COOLANT
* Coolant quantities shown are for standard radiators.
4. A radiator cap that is loose or has a damaged seal will
result in coolant loss and may cause overheating.
5. Suggested coolant mixes are listed below (Radiator cleaner
and anti-freeze).

1. Open the drain cocks on the bottom of the radiator and the
side of the engine, and remove the radiator cap.
2. The reserve tank, if equipped, can be drained by removing
the overflow tube.
3. Close the drains securely and add the proper amount of
coolant. Typical capacities are shown below for standard
radiators.
· Do not use dirty water or seawater for coolant.
· Check radiator cap condition and tighten securely after service.
· Do not overfill the reserve tank, if equipped.
· When coolant is added, start the engine and check again be-
fore it gets hot. It may require additional coolant.
