The device described in this manual is a Face Recognition Access Controller, designed for secure access management in various environments.
Function Description
The access controller serves as an access control panel that supports multiple unlocking methods, including faces, IC cards, fingerprints, and passwords, as well as combinations of these methods. It can operate in different unlock modes, including a temperature monitoring mode, where access is granted only if the user's temperature is normal.
It supports user management, allowing administrators to add new users, view user lists, and modify administrator passwords. Users can be assigned different levels (General, Blocklist, Guest, Patrol, VIP, Other, Custom User 1, Custom User 2), each with specific permissions and functionalities. For instance, Blocklist users are denied access, Guest users have a limited number of unlocks, and Patrol users are tracked for attendance but do not have unlock permission.
The device offers comprehensive access management features, including period configuration (setting specific times for door unlock), holiday group and plan configuration, and "NO Period" and "NC Period" settings for normally open or normally closed door states. A "Remote Verification Period" can be configured, requiring a door unlock instruction from a management platform for access during specified times.
Alarm configurations are robust, supporting anti-passback, duress alarms (triggered by duress cards or passwords), intrusion alarms (if a door is unlocked without the door contact released), and door sensor timeout alarms.
Attendance management is also a key function, allowing for attendance tracking and configuration of attendance modes (Auto/Manual, Auto, Manual, Fixed). This feature integrates with a platform for detailed tracking and reporting.
For network communication, the device supports IP configuration (DHCP or static IP), active registration to a management platform, Wi-Fi connectivity (for models with Wi-Fi), serial port settings (for external card readers or other access controllers), and Wiegand configuration (for external card swipe mechanisms or as a reader for other controllers).
System settings include time configuration (date, time, DST, NTP check, time zone), face parameters (face threshold, max angle of face, pupillary distance, recognition timeout, anti-fake threshold), image mode (Indoor, Outdoor, Other), volume adjustment, language selection, infrared light brightness adjustment, screen settings (screen saver, screen off time), and the ability to restore to factory settings or reboot.
Data can be exported to and imported from a USB drive, including user information, face data, card data, and fingerprints (for certain models). The device also supports system updates via USB.
Web operations provide a comprehensive interface for configuration and management, including initialization, login, password reset, door parameter settings, alarm linkage, talkback settings (SIP server, VTO, VTH, VTS management, online status, call logs), time section configuration, data capacity viewing, video settings (data rate, image parameters, exposure, motion detection, volume, image mode, local coding), face detection parameters, network settings (TCP/IP, port, register, P2P), and safety management (IP authority, system service configuration, server certificate management).
The device can be managed through the SmartPSS AC client, which allows for adding devices (auto search or manual add), user management (card type setting, adding users manually or in batches, extracting/importing user information), permission configuration (adding permission groups, configuring permissions), access management (remotely opening/closing doors, setting always open/close, resetting door status), and attendance management (report search, other configurations).
