This document is an operation manual for Daikin Room Air Conditioners, specifically models CDKM25VVMG, CDKM35VVMG, CDKM50VVMG, and CDKM60VVMG. It covers safety precautions, parts identification, multi-connection notes, care and cleaning instructions, and troubleshooting.
Function Description:
The Daikin Room Air Conditioner is an inverter-type air conditioning unit designed for cooling indoor spaces. It operates using R32 refrigerant. The system can be configured as a multi-system, connecting one outdoor unit to multiple indoor units, allowing for individual control of each indoor unit while managing overall system operation. The unit features an indoor unit ON/OFF switch for basic operation when the remote controller is unavailable, and an indoor temperature sensor to detect ambient air temperature.
Important Technical Specifications:
- Refrigerant: R32.
- Operation Modes (Multi System): COOL, DRY, and FAN operation can be used simultaneously across different indoor units.
- Operating Conditions (COOL/DRY):
- Outdoor temperature: 10.0-46.0°C
- Indoor temperature: 18.0-32.0°C
- Indoor humidity: 80% max.
- Indoor Unit ON/OFF Switch Default Settings:
- Mode: COOL
- Temperature setting: 22°C
- Airflow rate: AUTO
- Remote Controller Model (Wireless Type): BRC086A12.
Usage Features:
- Indoor Unit Components:
- Air outlet: Where conditioned air is discharged.
- Air inlet: Where room air is drawn in.
- OPERATION lamp (green): Indicates the unit is operating.
- Indoor unit ON/OFF switch: Allows manual start/stop of operation. Press once to start, press again to stop. Useful if the remote controller is missing or out of batteries.
- Indoor temperature sensor: Detects the air temperature around the unit to regulate cooling.
- TIMER lamp (orange): This lamp is not used in these models.
- Receiver: Receives signals from the remote controller.
- Outdoor Unit Components:
- Air inlet (back and side): Where ambient air is drawn in.
- Air outlet: Where heat is expelled.
- Earth terminal (inside): For electrical grounding.
- Model name: Identifies the outdoor unit model.
- Refrigerant pipes and inter-unit wire: Connects indoor and outdoor units.
- Drain hose: Discharges condensed water.
- Multi System Operation:
- Operation Mode Selection: When multiple indoor units are operating, priority is given to the first unit turned on. Subsequent units must be set to the same operation mode or they will enter standby.
- Priority Room Setting: This feature, requiring initial programming, allows a designated "priority room" to take precedence in operation mode selection. For example, if COOL is selected in the priority room, other rooms operating in COOL, DRY, or FAN will maintain their current operation mode. This feature is unavailable when connected with outdoor models MKM50VVMG or MKP50VVMG.
- SUPER POWERFUL Priority: If the priority room enters SUPER POWERFUL operation, cooling capacity is concentrated in that room, potentially reducing efficiency in other rooms.
- OUTDOOR UNIT QUIET Operation Priority: Setting the priority room to QUIET operation initiates OUTDOOR UNIT QUIET operation for the entire system, reducing outdoor unit noise.
- NIGHT QUIET Mode (COOL operation only): Reduces outdoor unit noise during night-time hours. This mode activates when the temperature drops 6°C or more below the day's highest recorded temperature and cancels if the difference becomes less than 4°C. It slightly reduces cooling efficiency and requires initial programming.
Maintenance Features:
- Air Filter Cleaning:
- Removal: For rear suction, pull the bottom side of the air filter backwards over the bends. For bottom suction, pull the filter over the bends at the backside of the unit.
- Cleaning: Remove dust with a vacuum cleaner and rinse gently in cool water. Avoid detergents or hot water to prevent shrinking/deformation. Dry in the shade.
- Replacement: For rear suction, hook the filter behind the flap at the top and push the other side over the bends. For bottom suction, hook the filter behind the flap at the middle and push the other side over the bends. Attach by pushing down on the tabs.
- Caution: Do not operate without filters. Do not remove filters except for cleaning. Do not use petrol, benzine, thinner, polishing compounds, or liquid insecticide. Do not get the indoor unit wet.
- Drain Pan Cleaning: Periodical cleaning by a dealer is recommended to prevent clogging and water leakage.
- General Checks:
- Check the outdoor unit's base, stand, and fittings for decay or corrosion.
- Ensure air inlets and outlets of both indoor and outdoor units are not blocked.
- Verify smooth drainage from the drain hose during COOL or DRY operation. If no drain water is seen, water may be leaking from the indoor unit, requiring dealer consultation.
- Cleaning Air Outlet, Outside Panels, and Remote Controller:
- Clean with a soft cloth.
- For stubborn stains, use water or a neutral detergent.
- Prior to Long Period of Non-Use:
- Operate in FAN mode for several hours on a fine day to dry the inside of the unit.
- Turn off the circuit breaker after operation stops.
- Clean and reattach air filters.
- Remove batteries from the wireless remote controller to prevent leakage.
- Periodical Maintenance: Recommended by a specialist after several seasons of use to prevent poor performance due to internal fouling. Maintenance costs are borne by the user.
