XL-9VBATTERYMODULEINSTRUCTIONS
Introduction
ThemodelXL-9Vbatterypackusesa9voltalkalinebattery(NEDA#1604A)toprovidepower
totheheadsetENCsystem.TheXL-9VfeaturesanAutoShutOfffunctiontosavethebatteryif
thepowerswitchisleftonwhentheheadsetisnotinuse.TheAutoShutOfffeatureoperates
bysensinglossofmicrophoneDCbiasvoltagewhentheheadsetisunpluggedoraircraftaudio
systemisshutoff.
Aswitchisprovidedinsidethebatterycompartment(seeFig.1)tocontroltheAutoShutOff
feature.TheXL-9VisshippedfromthefactorywiththisswitchintheDISABLEposition,
whichwillprovidecontinuouspowertotheENCsystemwheneverthepowerswitchison.
Note:SwitchmustbeintheDISABLEpositionwhenXL-9Visused
withH10-76XLoranyheadsetusinganon-amplifiedmicrophone.
ToEnableAutoShutOff
TheENABLEpositionprovidesautomaticshutoffofpowertotheENCsystemiftheheadsetis
unpluggedortheaircraftaudiosystempoweristurnedoff.
TooperatetheAutoShutOffswitchremovethebattery,andusingasmallpointedtoolgently
movetheswitchtothedesiredposition.Ablunttoollikeaballpointpenisnotrecommended.
Replacebattery.
PowerIndicator
Abi-colorLED,mountedonthetopofthebatterypackindicatesthestatusofthebattery
(seeFig.2).
Whenthebatteryisgoodandtheheadsetispowered,theLEDwillblinkgreenapproximately
oncepersecond.Whenthebatteryislow,theLEDwillbereduntilthebatteryisfullydischarged.
