Position the silencer on your
work surface with the manifold
facing away from you, then push the tip
of the tailpipe over the outlet pipe, as
indicated by the red arrow.

Push the tailpipe over the outlet
until it rests snugly against the
body of the silencer, as shown.

The gasket is shaped to match
the manifold’s ange, and will
help form an airtight seal between the
engine and the manifold. It is made of a
heat-resistant material.

For this assembly session, you will need your RB7 chassis assembly, your GX21
engine and the parts supplied with this stage.

The exhaust manifold is attached
to the top of the body of the
silencer, and its opening has a ange
that will match up to the one at the rear
of the engine.
