MAN-PTS-GB, Revision 9, BSC, 15-FEB-2017 21/46
Risk of damage to components!
Make sure that the valve is correctly positioned and centered and that it can
open/close freely. In case of incorrect installation, the valve and the PTS chamber
can be damaged and the valve can get wedged.
3) Install the filter gasket in the recess of the upper part of the PTS chamber;
4) Place the PTS filter in the recess directly on the gasket;
Risk of damage to components!
The filter frame must be placed with the grid side facing upward (opposite side of
the product). The smooth part of the filter membrane must be installed facing
downwards, in contact with the product, and the felted part must face the cover.
Filters, which are incorrectly installed, can provoke operating problems and
damage the installation.
5) Install the second filter gasket in the recess of the cover;
6) Fix the cover to the PTS chamber;
7) Install the product inlet butterfly valve (V1) between the flange of the PTS inlet tangential
nozzle and the counter flange for the hose connection;
8) Earth each component of the installation;
Earthing is made by braided metal strips or appropriate cables with specific labeling
and earthing symbolic.
Danger of electrostatic discharge!
Electrostatic charging occurs during powder handling. Electrostatic discharges can
provoke a fire or an explosion. In order to decrease this danger, each component
of the PTS must be connected to earth as shown in the diagram below. The
connecting pipes to the installation must be made in conductive materials.
