MAN-PTS-GB, Revision 9, BSC, 15-FEB-2017 32/46
10) Remove the used filter membrane;
11) Assemble the filter membrane inside the filter body on the grid. The felted side of the filter
membrane has to be installed towards the filter grid, the opposite side of the membrane, the
smooth part (marked with a red point), comes in contact with the product;
Risk of damage to components!
Filters which are not mounted correctly can lead to operating problems and
damage the installation.
12) Make sure that the intermediate O-ring is positioned in its grove in the PTS filter cover;
13) Reinforcement bars of the filter body must cross the reinforcement bars of the filter cover at
90°;
14) Reinstall the filter cover to the filter body;
15) Install the flat gasket in the recess of the upper part of the PTS chamber;
16) Place the PTS filter carefully in the recess directly on the gasket;
Risk of damage to components!
The filter frame must be placed with the grid side facing upward (opposite side of
the product). The smooth part of the filter membrane must be installed facing
downwards, in contact with the product, and the felted part must face the cover.
Filters, which are incorrectly installed, can provoke operating problems and
damage the installation.
17) Install the second flat gasket in the recess of the cover;
18) Fix the cover to the PTS chamber and PTS filter;
19) Connect the filter to earth;
20) Check the tightness of the system;
21) Check the earthing of the installation.
Danger of electrostatic discharge!
Electrostatic charging occurs during powder handling. Electrostatic discharges can
provoke a fire or an explosion. In order to decrease this danger, each component of
the PTS must be adequately connected to earth.
The connecting pipes to the
installation must be made in conductive materials.
