Reduce the temperature of the fridge or freezer until it reaches a sufficient level. Ensure doors are not opened frequently or left ajar; close them completely. If you've recently added a large amount of hot food or just plugged in the refrigerator, allow time to cool down. Open them less frequently. Close the door completely. Wait until the fridge or freezer reaches the desired temperature. Complete cooling down of the refrigerator takes time.

  A new or larger Defy Refrigerator may operate longer, which is normal. High ambient room temperature is also a factor. If you recently plugged it in or loaded it with food, it takes longer to cool down. Large amounts of hot food can cause longer running until cooled. Infrequent closing of the doors, doors left ajar, or a very low temperature setting can also contribute. Check if the door seal is soiled or broken and clean or replace the seal. For manual defrost models, check if defrosting is needed. Adjust the refrigerator temperature to a warmer degree and wait until the temperature is achieved. Open the doors less frequently. Check that the doors are tightly closed.
