Why is my Defy Refrigerator running continuously?

  It's normal for a new, larger Defy Refrigerator to run for longer periods. Also, high ambient room temperature can cause the refrigerator to run continuously. Other factors include recently plugging in the refrigerator or loading it with food, putting large amounts of hot food inside recently, frequent door openings or doors left ajar, setting the refrigerator to a very low temperature, or a soiled, worn out, broken, or improperly seated door seal. Clean or replace the seal if necessary.

  High temperature in the Defy Refrigerator or freezer can be caused by setting the fridge temperature too high. Try adjusting the temperature to a sufficient level. It can also occur if the doors are opened frequently or left ajar, if a large amount of hot food has been placed inside recently, or if the refrigerator was recently plugged in. Remember that it takes time to cool down completely; also ensure the door is completely closed.

  If the compressor of your Defy Refrigerator is not running, it might be due to the protective thermic of the compressor blowing out during sudden power failures, plug-outs, and plug-ins, as the refrigerant pressure in the cooling system has not yet balanced. In this case, your refrigerator will start running approximately after 6 minutes. If it doesn't start after this period, please call a service center. Alternatively, the fridge might be in defrost cycle, the plug might not be properly fitted into the wall socket, the temperature adjustments might not have been correctly made, or there might be a power outage.

  Condensation on the side wall of your Defy Refrigerator (MULTIZONE, COOL CONTROL and FLEXI ZONE) can be caused by very cold ambient conditions, frequent opening and closing of the door, highly humid ambient conditions, storing food containing liquid in open containers, leaving the door ajar, or setting the thermostat to a colder degree. Decrease the amount of time the door is left open or use it less frequently. You can also cover food stored in open containers with a suitable material and wipe the condensation using a dry cloth and check if it persists.
