4 Auxiliary axes
4.1 Introduction
In this chapter the configuration procedure of axes is explained. This procedure is valid for all
axes, except the Y-axis.
Typical parameters for servo drives or AC drives are explained in chapter 5. Special axes and
their parameters are explained in the chapters 6 through 9.
The following axis types can be programmed on a control:
X-axis
X2-axis
R-axis
R1-axis
R2-axis
R3-axis
R4-axis
Z-axis
Z1-axis
Z2-axis
ZM-axis
I-axis (chapter 8)
general purpose, X1-axis
general purpose, X2-axis
general purpose, X3-axis
general purpose, X4-axis
Part support and additional axes (chapter 9)
Crowning (chapter 6)
Digital axes (chapter 7)
4.2 Configuration procedure of axes
An axis is configured in two steps:
1. select and configure the correct module for an axis,
2. enable an axis and program its parameters.
The only exception to this rule is the Y-axis. Once a module is configured to control the Y-axis,
the parameters for the Y-axis can immediatly be programmed through option 1: Y-axis and
general parameters.
