6. Pull up the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly by the pull-tab to lift the assembly out of
the system board.
Installing the Microprocessor Thermal-Cooling Assembly
NOTICE: Before you install the replacement microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly, remove
the mylar that covers the thermal grease on the assembly.
1. If you are installing a replacement microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly, remove the mylar
that covers the thermal grease on the assembly. If you are installing the assembly that you
removed in the previous section:
a. Wipe the thermal grease off of the microprocessor thermal-cooling assembly with a clean
paper towel.
