Removing the Infrared Card
Replacing the Infrared Card

CAUTION: Only a certified service technician should perform repairs on your computer. Damage due to
servicing that is not authorized by Dell™ is not covered by your warranty.
CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by
periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer).
Removing the Infrared Card
1. Follow the procedures in Before You Begin.
2. Remove the system board (see Removing the System Board
).
3. Follow the instructions from step 5
to step 11 in Removing the Display Bezel.
4. Turn the display bezel over.
5. Remove the screw that secures the infrared card to the display bezel.
6. Disconnect the infrared-card cable from the connector on the infrared card.
7. Lift the infrared card away from the display bezel.
