SP4 Update
SUSE Linux Enterprise Server SP4 fails to load on systems configured with
quad-core processors and more than 4-GB of RAM. A future maintenance
update from SUSE will correct this issue. Currently, you can bypass the issue
by using one of the following methods:
• In the System Setup program, enable the
Node Interleaving
option on
the
Memory Information
screen.
• In the operating system boot parameter file, set the memory parameter
to a value less than 4-GB (for example, 3900m).

Hyper-V Beta Virtualization Update

or Windows Server 2008 as a guest
operating system on a virtual machine that was created with Hyper-V Beta
virtualization software causes a system crash (blue screen) if the guest
operating system is installed from the system’s internal optical drive. No
other operating systems are affected by this limitation. Until a chipset driver
update to fix the error is provided on support.dell.com, use one of the
following alternate methods for installing the guest operating system
on the virtual machine:
• Use an external USB optical drive attached to the host system.
• Install the operating system using a PXE-based solution,
such as Windows
®
Deployment Server.
