Removing the power button
Prerequisites
1. Follow the procedure in Before working inside your computer.
2. Remove the left-side cover.
3. Remove the front cover.
4. Remove the 3.5-inch hard drive or 2.5-inch hard drive.
5. Remove the hard-drive and optical-drive cage.

Steps
1. Disconnect the power-button cable from the connector on the system board.
2. Press the release tabs on the power button to release the power button from the slot on the chassis.
3. Remove the power button and the cable through the slot on the front of the chassis.
