Overview

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the De'Longhi Kenwood E024 Series electric oven, covering its functions, usage, and maintenance.

Function Description

The De'Longhi Kenwood E024 Series electric oven is designed for various cooking tasks, offering a range of functions to suit different culinary needs. The appliance features a top heating element and, in some models, an inside light for better visibility during cooking. It comes with a wire rack (some models), a drip pan, and a crumb tray for easy cleaning and versatile cooking.

The oven is equipped with several cooking functions, selectable via the function selector dial:

  • Gratin Function: Ideal for browning food, this function is designed to give dishes a crispy, golden finish.
  • Grill Function: Perfect for grilling various foods, providing intense top heat for searing and browning.
  • Traditional Oven Function: This is the standard baking mode, suitable for all types of traditional cooking, such as roasting and baking.
  • Defrosting Function: Specifically designed for defrosting all types of frozen products, ensuring even and gentle thawing.
  • Convection Heat: This function utilizes a fan to circulate hot air, resulting in quicker and more even cooking. It's ideal for baking multiple items at once or for dishes that require uniform heat distribution.
  • Delicate Cooking Function: This specialized function is for adding finishing touches to food, particularly for browning the bottom of dishes, ensuring a perfect crust or base.
  • Keeping Food Warm: A convenient function to maintain the temperature of cooked food without overcooking it.

The oven's operation is monitored by two indicator lights:

  • Red ON Light: Illuminates when the oven is connected to power, indicating that the appliance is active.
  • Green °C Light: Lights up when the oven reaches the desired temperature set by the thermostat dial, signaling that it's ready for cooking.

Usage Features

Before using the oven for the first time, it is crucial to remove all internal packaging materials, including cardboard, booklets, and plastic bags. The appliance should be placed at least 20 cm away from the mains power socket. For the initial use, operate the oven empty with the thermostat set to maximum for at least 15 minutes. This process helps eliminate any "new" smell and smoke from protective substances applied to the heating elements during manufacturing and transport. Ensure the room is well-ventilated during this initial operation. All accessories should be washed before their first use.

To set the timer for durations less than 20 minutes, first turn the timer dial all the way around, then back to the desired time.

The oven is designed exclusively for cooking food and should not be modified or used for any other purpose. After unpacking, verify that the oven door is undamaged and functions correctly. The glass door is fragile; if it shows any chips, scores, or scratches, it must be replaced. Avoid slamming or knocking the door, especially when the appliance is hot, and never pour cold liquid onto the hot glass.

The appliance must be placed on a horizontal surface at a height of at least 85 cm, out of reach of children. This oven can be used by children aged 8 and above, as well as by individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, provided they are supervised or instructed on safe use and understand the associated hazards. Children should be supervised to prevent them from playing with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are over 8 years old and under constant supervision.

Keep the appliance and its power cable out of reach of children under eight years of age. Do not move the appliance while it is in use. Do not use the appliance if the power cable is faulty, if it has been dropped, or if it is visibly damaged or malfunctioning. In such cases, contact an authorized customer service center to avoid risks.

Never place the appliance near heat sources or use it as a heat source itself. Avoid placing paper, cardboard, or plastic inside the oven, and do not rest any objects (utensils, wire racks, etc.) on top of the appliance. Ensure that ventilation openings are unobstructed by not inserting anything into them. This oven is not designed for built-in installation. Do not place heavy objects, boiling pans, or containers on the open door, and do not pull the handle downwards.

Professional or inappropriate use, or failure to follow the instructions, will void the manufacturer's responsibility and the warranty. This is a household appliance and is not intended for commercial use in staff kitchen areas, offices, farmhouses, hotels, motels, or other residential or bed and breakfast environments.

When not in use and before cleaning, always unplug the appliance. This appliance must not be operated by an external timer or a separate remote control system. The appliance must be placed with its back against a wall. Do not use pointed or sharp metal objects to clean the bread pan.

Maintenance Features

Regular cleaning and proper maintenance are essential for the longevity and safe operation of your De'Longhi Kenwood E024 Series electric oven.

Before cleaning, always turn the appliance off by setting the timer to "0" and unplugging it from the mains socket. This ensures that the appliance is completely de-energized, preventing any accidental operation or electrical shock.

The accessories provided for cooking are not suitable for acid food preservation. Avoid leaving acidic substances like lemon juice or vinegar on the surface of the accessories for prolonged periods, as this may damage and impair their coating. If acidic substances such as lemon juice, tomato, or vinegar are left on the surfaces for an extended time, they can cause damage.

For your personal safety, never attempt to disassemble the appliance yourself. Always contact customer services for any repairs or internal issues.

The appliance conforms to EC Regulation 1935/2004 regarding materials and articles intended to come into contact with food, ensuring its safety for culinary use.

When disposing of the appliance, it must not be treated as household waste. Instead, it should be taken to an authorized waste separation and recycling center. This helps protect the environment by ensuring proper recycling and disposal of electronic components.
