Overview

This document provides instructions for use of the De'Longhi Electric Oven, a household appliance designed for cooking food. It is not intended for commercial use or for purposes other than those specified.

Function Description

The De'Longhi Electric Oven offers a variety of cooking functions, controlled by the mode selector (G) and thermostat dial (E). The available functions include:

  • SPIT ROAST FUNCTION: Ideal for spit roasting, this function is available on certain models and utilizes the spit (L) and spit support (M) for even cooking of items like chicken.
  • GRATIN FUNCTION: Designed for browning food, this function is suitable for achieving a crispy top layer on dishes.
  • GRILL FUNCTION: This function is specifically for grilling food, providing intense top heat for items like steaks or vegetables.
  • TRADITIONAL OVEN FUNCTION: This is the standard setting for all types of traditional cooking, providing heat from both top and bottom elements.
  • DEFROSTING FUNCTION: Ideal for defrosting all types of products, this function gently thaws food without cooking it.
  • HEAT CONVECTION: This function provides quicker and more even cooking by circulating hot air within the oven cavity.
  • FAN FUNCTION: Similar to heat convection, this function also ensures more even cooking through fan-assisted heat distribution.
  • KEEPING FOOD WARM: This function maintains a temperature of 70°C-80°C, perfect for keeping cooked food warm until serving.

The oven features indicator lights to provide feedback on its operation. The red ON light (I) illuminates when the oven is in operation, while the green °C light (H) comes on when the oven reaches the required temperature set by the thermostat dial.

Usage Features

Before first use, it is crucial to remove all packaging materials, including protective cardboard, booklets, and plastic bags from inside the oven. The appliance should be placed on a horizontal surface at a height of at least 85 cm, ensuring it is out of reach of children and at least 20 cm away from the main power socket. To eliminate any "new" smell or smoke from protective substances on the heating elements, operate the oven empty with the thermostat at maximum for at least 15 minutes, ensuring the room is well-ventilated. All accessories should be washed thoroughly before use.

The oven is operated using three main dials: the thermostat dial (E) to set the desired temperature, the timer dial (F) to set the cooking duration, and the mode selector (G) to choose the cooking function. The internal light (B), available on certain models, helps monitor food without opening the door. The wire rack (O) and drip pan (P) are provided for various cooking needs. The spit roast housing (C) and spit support hooks (D) are used in conjunction with the spit (L) and spit support (M) for spit roasting.

When using the oven, always use the knobs, handles, and buttons to avoid touching hot surfaces. Oven gloves are recommended when handling hot metal parts or the glass door. The door, made of glass, is fragile and should be handled with care to prevent chipping, scoring, or scratching. Avoid slamming or knocking the door violently and never pour cold liquid onto the hot glass.

For optimal cooking results, refer to the cooking charts provided in the manual, which suggest appropriate temperatures, cooking times, and rack positions for various food types and weights. These charts cover a wide range of dishes, including pizzas, pastries, roasted meats, and vegetables, and specify which functions (e.g., traditional oven, convection, grill, defrost) are best suited for each.

Maintenance Features

Before cleaning, always turn the appliance off by setting the timer to "0" and unplugging it from the mains socket. Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are over eight years old and under constant supervision.

To clean the oven, avoid using pointed or sharp metal objects on the bread pan or any other surfaces. Never immerse the power cable, plug, or the appliance itself in water to prevent electric shock. A damp cloth can be used to clean the exterior surfaces. For internal cleaning, ensure the oven is cool.

If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, their customer services, or a qualified electrician to eliminate any risk. For personal safety, never attempt to disassemble the appliance yourself; always contact Customer Services for repairs.

The appliance should be kept clean to ensure proper functioning and longevity. Regular cleaning of the wire racks and drip pan is recommended. These accessories can be washed thoroughly after each use.

The appliance complies with EC directives regarding Low Voltage, EMC, and materials in contact with food. When disposing of the appliance, it must not be treated as household waste but taken to an authorized waste separation and recycling center, in compliance with European directive 2002/96/EC.
