Function Description

The appliance is designed for steam ironing, allowing users to smooth garments and fabrics. It features a steam generator that produces steam, which is then delivered through an iron. The system includes controls for adjusting steam quantity and iron temperature to suit different fabric types. It can also be used for dry ironing by simply setting the desired temperature without activating the steam function.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Water Reservoir Capacity: 0.7 liters (MAX level).
  • Power Supply: Requires connection to an efficiently earthed power supply and sockets with a minimum current rating of 10 A.
  • Water Type: Operates with normal tap water. For very hard water (above 27°F), a 50% dilution with demineralized water is recommended. Mineral water, rainwater, water for batteries, air conditioners, chemical substances, or detergents should not be used.
  • Net Weight: 5.330 kg.

Usage Features

Safety Warnings:

  • Electrical Safety: Never touch with damp hands or bare/wet feet. Do not immerse in water. Unplug by grasping the plug, not the cable. Ensure compatible sockets; avoid adapters or extensions.
  • Water Filling: Always turn off and unplug the system before filling or topping up water.
  • Power Cable: If damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or customer services.
  • Cleaning/Servicing: Disconnect from mains before cleaning or servicing.
  • Pressurized Apertures: Do not open during use for filling, descaling, rinsing, or inspection.
  • Voltage Check: Verify mains supply voltage matches the rating plate before use.
  • Hot Surfaces: Surfaces marked with the hot surface symbol become hot during use.
  • Steam Direction: Never aim steam at persons or animals.
  • Unattended Use: Do not leave the iron unattended when connected to power.
  • Child Safety: Keep out of reach of children under eight years old when powered on or cooling down. Children aged 8 and above, and persons with reduced capabilities, can use the appliance under supervision and instruction. Children should not play with or clean the appliance without supervision.
  • Movement: The steam generator should not be moved during use. The tube connecting the iron and steam generator can become hot.
  • Hot Base/Cables: Avoid contact between the hot iron base and cables.
  • Initial Use: Ensure the appliance is complete and undamaged after unpacking. Remove soleplate protection. Dispose of plastic bags carefully.
  • Iron Rest: Use the removable iron rest on an ironing board; never on a table to avoid surface damage.
  • Stability: The appliance must be used and rested on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure the stand is stable when placing the iron on it.
  • Storage: Never store the iron in a vertical position.
  • Damage: Do not use if dropped, visibly damaged, or leaking. Contact customer services.

Getting Started:

  1. Filling the Reservoir: Ensure the power cable is unplugged. Open the water reservoir door and fill up to the MAX level (0.7 L). Plug the appliance into a mains socket.
  2. Initial Heating: The steam generator is empty initially, so it will take longer to heat up as air is eliminated. A pump noise during filling/heating is normal.
  3. Steam Ironing:
    • Turn the steam regulator dial (G) to a steam position. The ON light on the control panel and the iron's ON light (L) will illuminate.
    • Wait for the "Steam ready" light (I) to come on and the iron's ON light (L) to go off.
    • Press the steam button (M) under the handgrip to deliver steam.
    • First Use/Infrequent Use: The appliance may emit smoke and odor for several minutes due to sealer heating. Ventilate the room. Press the steam delivery button several times away from the ironing board to eliminate condensation from the steam circuit.
    • Continuous Steam (some models): Move the steam lock (O) backward.
    • "No Water" Light: If the "no water" light (H) comes on, do not continue steam ironing with the pump vibrating, as this can damage internal components. Top up the water immediately.
  4. Adjusting Temperature: Turn the thermostat dial (N) to set the appropriate temperature for the fabric. For steam ironing, the temperature must be within the indicated steam sector.
  5. Adjusting Steam: The steam regulator dial (G) allows increasing or decreasing steam quantity:
    • 1: Little steam (e.g., delicate garments).
    • 2: Good quality ironing with maximum energy and water savings.
    • 3: Top quality ironing with energy and water savings.
    • 4: Difficult-to-iron garments or creases.
    • It is recommended to start with the maximum steam position.
  6. Topping Up Water: When the "no water" light comes on, top up the reservoir immediately. If delayed, the system may cool down and function as if turned on for the first time, requiring 5 minutes for steam to be ready and pump filling noises.
  7. Dry Ironing: Turn the thermostat dial to the desired temperature and iron without pressing the steam button.

Maintenance Features

Rinsing the Steam Generator: To maintain optimal operation and consistent steam production, rinse the steam generator after every 10 ironing sessions:

  1. Ensure the appliance is off, unplugged, and completely cold.
  2. Empty the water reservoir by turning the appliance upside down over a sink.
  3. Turn the protective cap (B) clockwise and remove it.
  4. Use a coin or screwdriver to unscrew the steam generator cap.
  5. Eliminate water from the steam generator.
  6. Rest the appliance on its side and fill with a maximum of 0.7 liters of water using a funnel.
  7. Shake the appliance to rinse the steam generator, then discard the water.
  8. Repeat the rinse procedure.
  9. Screw the steam generator cap back on tightly.
  10. Replace the protective cap (B).
  11. Before resuming ironing, discharge steam into the air for a few seconds to eliminate any residues.

Cleaning:

  • Clean the soleplate surface when cold with a damp cloth.
  • Never use descaling products on the iron.

After Ironing:

  • Place the iron on its stand in the secured position and allow it to cool down.
  • For tidy storage, fix the steam/cable tube to hook (B) and wind the power cable around cable tidy (D).
  • Store the iron in a dry place.
  • Draining residual water from the reservoir after ironing is not necessary, but recommended if the appliance will be unused for long periods.

Troubleshooting Guide:

  • Appliance not coming on: Check if plugged in and ensure ON buttons for iron and steam generator are pressed.
  • Steam leaks from reservoir: The maximum pressure safety system may have tripped. Turn off and contact customer services.
  • Water leaks from soleplate holes: Condensation in tubes from first-time or infrequent steam use. Press steam button several times away from ironing board to clear cold water.
  • Brown fluid leaks from soleplate: Chemical water softeners or additives used. Never pour such products into the reservoir. Clean soleplate with a damp cloth.
  • Smoke on first use: Normal, caused by sealer/lubricant evaporation. Will stop after a few uses.
  • Intermittent noise/vibrations: Normal, indicates water being pumped into the steam generator.
  • Continuous noise/vibrations: Unplug and contact customer services.

Disposal:

  • Do not dispose of with household waste. Take to an authorized waste separation and recycling center.
