Heating and Air Conditioning
REMOVING AIR CONDITIONING
ACCUMULATOR
WARNING: Observe safety precautions regarding
handling of freon gas refrigerant while undertaking
this procedure.
1.
De-pressurize
air conditioning system (refer to
N:07:01).

Raise the car on a hoist lift.
3. Remove right hand front wheel.
4.
Pull back protective boot from accumulator
low pressure switch and disconnect leads from
spade terminals.
5. Using two wrenches disconnect compressor
hose from bottom of accumulator and cap
both connections immediately.
6. Release the accumulator mounting bracket
from the body.
7. Remove access cover at the back of the spare
wheel well to gain access to evaporator/
accumulator top connection. Using two
wrenches disconnect the joint, and cap both
connections immediately.
8. Withdraw accumulator.
