The standard serial transmission parameters of the instrument are:
* Baud Rate 19200 Baud
* Parity None
* N. bit 8
* Stop bit 1
* Protocol Xon/Xoff
The data transmission speed may be changed by pressing the PROG key on the instrument to alter
the set-up parameter P3. The possible baud rates are: 19200, 9600, 4800, 2400, 1200, 600, 300.
The other transmission parameters are fixed.
All the commands given to the instrument must have the following structure:
XYcr where:
XY constitutes the command code
cr Carriage Return (ASCII 0D)
The command characters are exclusively upper case, the instrument replies with a “?” to any other
combination of characters sent, the instrument reply strings do not contain control characters (the
instrument does not send line-feed or carriage return characters to the terminal). Once a command
has been accepted it is possible to obtain repetition of the action by sending only - cr - to the instru-
ment; thus, for example, successive measurements of the same channel may be displayed simply
by pressing the return key on the terminal.
