Overview

E-Bike LCD Controller

Function Description: The LCD controller is the primary interface for operating the E-Bike's electronic functions. It displays key riding information and allows the user to control various settings, including pedal assistance levels, lights, and walking assist.

Usage Features: The controller features three main buttons: S+, S-, and a Power/CUR button (represented by '①' and 'CUR' on the diagram).

  • S+ Button:

    • Short press: Increases the level of pedal assistance.
    • Long press: Cycles through the upper display menu, which typically shows speed-related information.
  • S- Button:

    • Short press: Decreases the level of pedal assistance.
    • Long press: Activates the walking assist feature. To disengage walking assist, any brake lever must be pressed.
  • Power/CUR Button (① / CUR):

    • Short press (①): Cycles through the lower display menu.
    • Long press (①): Powers the E-Bike ON/OFF.
    • Short press (CUR): Activates the front light.
    • Long press (CUR): Activates the walking assist feature. To disengage walking assist, any brake lever must be pressed.

Power Operations: To switch on the LCD screen, the power button (①) must be pressed and held for two seconds. Once the display illuminates, the bike is ready for use. To switch off the controller, the power button must be pressed and held until the display turns off.

Display Menus:

  • Upper Display Menu:

    • Function: Primarily responsible for showing speed. The default setting is current speed.
    • Usage: A long press of the S+ button allows the user to switch between current speed, maximum recorded speed, and average speed. These values reset to 0 when the bike is switched off, ready for the next trip.
  • Lower Display Menu:

    • Function: Displays overall mileage (odometer), current trip mileage, current battery voltage, output current to the motor, and the duration the bike has been switched on.
    • Usage: A short press of the Power button (①) cycles through these options: ODO (odometer), TRIP (current trip mileage), VOL (current battery voltage), CUR (output current to motor – noted as N/A for this specific bike), and T1 (duration of time the bike has been switched on).

Walking Assist:

  • Function: This feature helps maintain the bike at a walking speed (up to 3 kph) without the need for pedaling.
  • Activation: Press and hold either the CUR button or the S- button.
  • Disengagement: Pressing any of the brake levers will disengage walking assist.

Lights:

  • Rear Light: The rear light is an LED and is always switched on for visibility. It draws minimal power, having little to no effect on battery charge.
  • Front Light: The front light is operated by a short press of the CUR button to switch it on, and another short press to switch it off.

#99054 Quick Operation Guide

Function Description: This guide provides essential instructions for the assembly, battery management, and control of the #99054 E-Bike, emphasizing pre-ride checks and maintenance.

Important Technical Specifications & Maintenance Features:

  • Pre-Ride Check: Users are advised to regularly check the E-Bike for ride-ready condition, including tight spokes, inflated tires, and responsive brakes. A pre-delivery inspection (PDI) is performed before dispatch, but a user check prior to the first ride is strongly recommended.
  • Battery Charging & Locking:
    • Charging: The battery can be charged both on or off the bike. To charge, raise the battery handle to expose the charging port, insert the charger, and plug it in. A red light indicates charging, while a green light signifies a full charge.
    • Locking Positions: The battery lock has three positions: ON, OFF, and UNLOCK.
    • Removal: To remove the battery, turn the key anti-clockwise to the UNLOCK position, use the folding handle on top of the battery, and slide it up the guide rail.
    • Installation: To install, slide the battery back down the guide rail, then turn the key clockwise AND push it inwards simultaneously to lock the battery in place.
    • Lifespan: Regular charging and discharging are crucial for prolonging battery lifespan and maintaining its best form. Overcharging should be avoided.
  • Battery Switch ON/OFF:
    • ON: The key in the 12 o'clock position means the battery is switched on. The battery must be switched on for the bike to power on via the control pad.
    • OFF: To turn the battery off, turn the key anti-clockwise/left until it clicks.
  • Battery Unlocked/Released:
    • Unlock: To unlock the battery, push the key in and simultaneously turn it anti-clockwise/left until it clicks.
    • Release: To remove the battery, pull it up using the battery handle. The saddle needs to be lifted into the upright position (by lifting the blue lever under the back of the saddle) to allow removal.
  • Mud/Water Exposure: If the bike has been exposed to a lot of mud or water, the battery should be removed as soon as possible, and any excess dirt/moisture near the battery terminals should be wiped away.

Assembly & Folding/Unfolding:

  • Unfolding Frame: Carefully lift the bike from the box and unfold the frame, locking the central locking pin in place. Adjustments to the locking clasp (clockwise/counter-clockwise rotation) may be needed to ensure a snug, non-forced fit. If the central frame or locking clasp moves once locked, it needs tightening.
  • Handlebar Stem: Bring the handlebar stem up and lock it with the locking clasp.
  • Saddle & Handlebar Height: Adjust these using the relevant locking clasps.
  • Pedals: Unfold the pedals. To fold them back in, squeeze the trigger inside the pedals and fold them simultaneously.
  • Lock Center Bike Hinge: The hinge should be secure and not wobble. If adjustment is needed, turn pin (E) clockwise/counter-clockwise to tighten/loosen.
  • Lock Handlebar Stem: Secure the handlebar stem in place with the spring lock.
  • Adjust Handlebars: Adjust height and angle by unlocking the collar and turning appropriately.

Motor Starting:

  • Ensure the battery is switched to the ON position (key turned clockwise to the third position).
  • Press and hold the power button on the control panel until the display lights up. The bike is now switched on.
  • To switch off the controller, press and hold the power button until the display turns off. Then, turn the key one position to the left to switch off the main power.

Controls:

  • Lights: The CUR button (next to the power button) switches the lights on and off. Note that there is a separate LED battery light on the rear with its own switch.
  • Assist Levels: Levels range from 0 (lowest assistance) to 5 (maximum assistance). Use the S+ and S- buttons to cycle through levels. Level 3 is recommended for a good balance of power and energy conservation.
