What to do if Digital Equipment Desktop computer does not recognize an internal or external SCSI device?

If your Digital Equipment Desktop computer isn't recognizing a SCSI device, there are a few things to check. First, ensure the SCSI device jumpers are correctly set by referring to the supplied SCSI device kit installation instructions. Next, resolve any SCSI ID conflicts, again referring to the kit instructions. Also, make sure that terminating resistors are removed, as detailed in the kit instructions. Finally, ensure that each end of the SCSI cable is terminated. If none of these steps resolve the issue, the SCSI adapter might be faulty and needs to be replaced.
