IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ THIS MANUAL
BEFORE INSTALLING UNIT
CAUTION - Before installation, careful consideration must be given to how this system
will operate if connected to any other piece of mechanical equipment, i.e. a forced air furnace
or air handler, operating at a higher static. After installation, the compatibility of the two piec-
es of equipment must be confirmed by measuring the airflow’s of the Heat Recovery
Ventilators by using the balancing procedure found in this manual.
It is always important to assess how the operation of any HRV may interact with vented com-
bustion equipment (i.e. Gas Furnaces, Oil Furnaces, Wood Stoves, etc.).
NEVER - install a ventilator in a situation where its normal operation, lack of operation or par-
tial failure may result in the backdrafting or improper functioning of vented combustion equipment!!!

      Pamela JacobsonAug 8, 2025
If the air from your Direct Air Fan is too humid, here are a few things you can try: * Reduce the desired level of humidity. * Combine this step with the use of continuous exchange mode. * Wait until the outside temperature stabilizes (winter). * Heating will also improve the situation. * Store a majority of your wood outside; even dried, a cord of wood contains more than 20 gallons of water. * Arrange the outside vent for the dryer. * Open curtains or blinds; bay or bow windows may require a mechanical method. * Balance HRV. * Open the door or install a grill on the door.

How to fix condensation or ice build up in insulated duct to the outside of Direct Air PHRV 140 Fan?
    • C
      Candace HallAug 15, 2025
Condensation or ice build-up in the insulated duct to the outside of your Direct Air Fan can occur due to an incomplete vapor barrier around the insulated duct, such as a hole or tear in the outer duct covering. To resolve this, tape and seal all joints, tape any holes or tears made in the outer duct covering, and ensure that the vapor barrier is completely sealed.
