Procedures
Check
1. Disconnect battery at battery disconnect
switch, if equipped.
2. Ensure no ignition sources are near battery.
3. Remove screw (1).
4. Pull battery tray out.
5. Remove bolts (2) to remove battery hold-
down (3).
6. Loosen and remove battery cable clamps
carefully, negative (-) cable first.
7. Clean cable clamps and terminals to remove
dull glaze.
8. Check for signs of internal corrosion in cables.
9. Connect battery cable clamps, positive (+) cable first.
10. Tighten any loose connections.
11. Install battery hold-down.
12. Loosely tighten bolts.
13. Push tray back into storage position.
14. Tighten screw.
15. Turn battery disconnect, if equipped, on.
