Procedures
Idler Roller Bearings
Check idler roller bearings (shown) at 50 hours
and every 300 hours thereafter. Adjust as needed.
Check
1. Lift machine.
2. Release track tension. See “Track Tension” on
page 78.
3. Check for movement of each hub when
rocked back and forth. If hub has noticeable
movement, adjust.
4. Adjust track tension.
Adjust
1. Remove nuts (1)
2. Remove dust cap cover and bracket (2).
3. Ensure bearings are properly seated by
tightening castle nut (3) to 30-40ft•lb (41-
54N•m) while turning hub (5).
4. Loosen and then hand-tighten castle nut.
5. Insert cotter pin(4) into wheel spindle.
6. Bend legs of cotter pin over top of spindle.
7. Clean lip seal on bearing cap, apply Loctite® 242 and install cap.
8. Adjust track tension.
NOTICE: Do not move hub after this
step is complete.
NOTICE: If hole is visible in slot but cotter pin cannot be inserted, slightly loosen or tighten
castle nut to align slot with hole and insert cotter pin. If hole is not visible in slot, loosen to next
available slot and insert cotter pin.
IMPORTANT: Hub should not have noticeable movement when rocked back and forth.
