Overview

This document describes the Dog Training Bark Collar User Guide DB400, a device designed to assist in dog training and bark correction.

Function Description

The device consists of a remote control and an anti-bark collar, offering both manual remote training and automatic anti-bark modes. The remote control allows for the manual triggering of beep, vibrate, and shock stimuli across two channels (Channel 1 and Channel 2) for remote training. An "Anti Bark Mode" (Channel A) is also available, where the collar automatically triggers a response when the dog barks. The collar is designed to help correct unwanted barking behavior and can be adjusted for sensitivity and intensity levels.

Important Technical Specifications

Remote Control:

  • Channels: 3 (Channel 1, Channel 2 for Remote Training Mode; Channel A for Anti Bark Mode).
  • Stimuli: Beep, Vibrate, Shock.
  • Shock/Vibration Intensity Dial: Adjustable from 0 to 100 levels for Channel 1 and Channel 2. The current intensity in use is 40 levels. Beep mode is a non-adjustable level.
  • LED Indicator Light: Stays on during charging, turns off when fully charged, flashes when buttons are pressed, blinks every 3 seconds in standby mode (up to 20 minutes), and blinks twice per second when charging is needed.
  • Battery Life: Approximately 2 hours for a full charge.
  • Antenna: Built-in.

Anti Bark Collar:

  • Modes: Beep, Vibrate, Shock (automatic in Anti Bark Mode, manual in Remote Training Mode).
  • Anti Bark Mode Sequences:
    • Beep Mode: 1st and 2nd bark: Beep (1.5s, 2s); 3rd bark: Shock (2s, 1.5s, intensity 100). Resets after 30 seconds of no barking.
    • Vibrate Mode: 1st bark: Beep (1.5s); 2nd and 3rd bark: Vibrate (1.5s+2s); 4th bark: Shock (2s+1.5s, intensity 100). Resets after 30 seconds of no barking.
    • Shock Mode: 1st bark: Beep (1.5s); 2nd to 5th bark: Shock (1.5s+1s, 1.5s+2s, 1.5s+1.5s) based on settings. Resets after 30 seconds of no barking.
  • Safety Feature (Anti Bark Mode): If continuous stimulus reaches 5 times, the collar stops working for 30 seconds to protect the dog, with the LED light flashing for 30 seconds.
  • Sensitivity Levels (Anti Bark Mode): 5 adjustable levels (Level 1-5), set by pressing the button on the collar. Level 5 is the highest sensitivity.
  • Waterproof: 100% waterproof when the USB charging port's rubber cover is fully sealed.
  • Battery Life: Requires approximately 2 hours for a full charge. Monthly charging is recommended when idle.
  • Contact Points: Metal probes designed to touch the dog's skin. Longer probes are available for dogs with thicker fur.
  • Collar Size: Adjustable to fit dog necks between 9" and 26". Not suitable for dogs under 10 pounds or necks outside this range.
  • Bark Detection: Utilizes vibration to identify barks, preventing false triggers from other dogs.

General:

  • Responding Range: Approximately 1,300 feet on flat terrain. Can be affected by obstacles (bushes, trees, hills, buildings, moisture, electrical conductors).
  • Warranty: 1-YEAR warranty from the date of purchase, covering defects in workmanship or materials. Excludes secondhand products, water damage, improper installation/use, unauthorized removal/modification/repair.
  • FCC Compliance: This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules, ensuring it does not cause harmful interference and accepts any interference received.

Usage Features

Getting Started:

  • Fully charge both the collar and remote for approximately 2 hours before first use.
  • Consult a veterinarian or certified trainer if unsure about suitability for your dog, especially if the dog is aggressive.
  • Avoid leaving the collar on the dog for more than 12 hours per day.

Fitting the Collar:

  • Ensure the collar is snugly fitted, allowing one or two fingers between the contact points and the dog's skin.
  • Both metal probe contact points must firmly touch the dog's neck skin for effective operation, especially in Shock Mode.
  • If the collar strap is too long, excess material can be cut off, and the end should be burned to prevent fraying.

Turning the Collar On/Off:

  • On: Click the button on the collar once (short vibrate confirms).
  • Off: Quickly double-click the button on the collar (long vibrate confirms).

Pairing the Collar with Remote (Remote Training Mode):

  • The collar is typically pre-paired to Channel 1 (and a second collar to Channel 2 if applicable).
  • To pair:
    1. Set the remote toggle switch to Channel 1.
    2. Hold the button on the collar for 3 seconds (1st beep, LED flashes green).
    3. Within 10 seconds, press and hold the beep and vibrate buttons on the remote (2nd beep confirms pairing).
    4. Verify by pressing the shock button with the test light over the contact points.
  • Adjust intensity using the dial (0-100).

Using Anti Bark Mode:

  • Change the remote toggle switch to Channel A.
  • Select desired Anti Bark Mode (Beep, Vibrate, or Shock) by pressing the corresponding button on the remote (one beep for Beep Mode, two for Vibrate, three for Shock).
  • Set sensitivity level (1-5) by pressing the button on the collar for 0.5 seconds (1 beep for Level 1, 2 beeps for Level 2, etc., long beep for Level 5). Do not hold for over 3 seconds to avoid entering pairing status.

Testing Anti Bark Mode:

  • Ensure contact points touch the dog's skin.
  • The collar detects barks via vibration. If a bark doesn't cause vibration against the sensor, it won't work.
  • Faux sounds can be used to provoke behavior for testing.

Important Usage Notes:

  • Do NOT attach a leash to the training collar to prevent injury from excessive pressure on contact points. Use a separate, non-metallic collar or harness for a leash.
  • Humans may react less to stimulation than dogs; use fingertips to test contact points and adjust intensity.
  • If the remote doesn't work or connection weakens, check if the antenna is blocked. Hold the remote out and away from your body, or above your head for ideal range.
  • Ensure the device is fully charged for optimal performance.

Maintenance Features

  • Battery Life Extension: Fully charge the collar before leaving it idle for extended periods, and charge it monthly.
  • Waterproof Integrity: Always ensure the rubber cover on the USB charging port is fully sealed after charging to maintain waterproofing.
  • Skin Health: Examine the dog's neck daily for signs of rash or sores (pressure ulcers/bed sores). Discontinue use if found and consult a veterinarian if conditions persist beyond 48 hours.
  • Collar Repositioning: Reposition the collar on the dog's neck every 1 to 2 hours if possible.
  • Cleaning: Wash the dog's neck area and the collar's contacts weekly with a damp cloth.
  • Troubleshooting Random Triggers: If the collar randomly beeps or vibrates, water may have entered. Remove the collar, unscrew, wipe out water stains on the circuit board and shell, allow to dry, then re-install.
  • Customer Service: Contact customer service (via Amazon or email: DB500A1@outlook.com) for installation questions, product usage, or if the device needs replacement or repair.
