Details and Technology
All vehicles with 5003-kilogram (11,030-pound) GVW rating, the load capacity of the front axle is
increased from the standard 1851 kilograms (4080 pounds) to 2000 kilograms (4410 pounds).
Benefits and Arguments
• Allows heavier bodies and equipment to be fitted
• Axle has a higher load rating
Remarks
The higher capacity front axle caters for heavier cabs and heavy special equipment (e.g., for armoured
vehicles and ambulances). Requires Front Heavy-Duty Stabilizer Bar (SHA) and Rear Stabilizer Bar
(SHC) on 3500 Cargo Vans.
