Function Description

The Dometic Cramer mini-oven is a gas appliance designed for baking and grilling, intended for built-in installation within a kitchen block. It features an electronic stroke spark ignition system for easy lighting of both the oven and, for models with this function, the grill. The oven is equipped with an automatic thermostat, allowing for temperature settings up to 250 °C. The design emphasizes safety with specific requirements for gas connections, ventilation, and electrical supply.

Important Technical Specifications

  • Appliance Class: 3rd class appliance, designed for built-in installation.
  • Gas Type: Propane/butane. The specific gas type and pressure are indicated on the instruction plate.
  • Oven Output (Hs): 1.1 kW (equivalent to 80 g/h propane/butane).
  • Grill Output (Hs): 1.6 kW (equivalent to 115 g/h propane/butane).
  • Simultaneous Operation: It is technically impossible for both burners (oven and grill) to be turned on at the same time.
  • Electrical Supply: 12 V DC for internal lighting (if applicable) and electronic stroke spark ignition. Special "Z" models use a replaceable 1.5 V battery for spark ignition.
  • Electrical Connection: Requires a twin cable of 1.5 mm² (red for positive, black for negative) connected to the terminal on the rear. Must be fused with a 3 A safety fuse (not supplied). Crucially, the device must NOT be connected to 230 V mains supply.
  • Gas Cylinder Pressure Reduction (Regulator): Recommended output of 1.5 kg/h.
  • Gas Cylinder Cabinet Dimensions (Germany): Minimum width and depth of 325 mm, minimum height of 620 mm.
  • Waste Gas Outlet: Maximum length of 2,000 mm. Maximum height difference between the upper edge of the oven and the waste gas outlet is 1,500 mm. Minimum elevation difference for side wall stack is 150 mm, and 200 mm for a Truma roof stack.
  • Exhaust Pipe Diameter: Ø 55 mm flexible metallic pipe.
  • Installation Dimensions (X Width, Y Depth, Z Height):
    • CMBOK: 398 x 490 x 284 mm
    • CMBOA: 398 x 490 x 304 mm
    • CMBOC: 484 x 490 x 284 mm
    • CMBOB: 484 x 490 x 304 mm
    • CMBODS: 524 x 490 x 354 mm
    • CMBODSV: 524 x 490 x 354 mm
    • CMBOGDS: 524 x 490 x 354 mm
    • CMBOGDSV: 524 x 490 x 354 mm
    • Note: For ovens with rear waste gas exhaust, the depth extends to 550 mm.
  • Minimum Distances from Inflammable Surfaces:
    • Right and left sides: 20 mm
    • Upper surfaces: 50 mm
    • Waste gas exhaust case: 50 mm
    • Walls or parts closer than these distances must be lined or protected with non-flammable materials.

Usage Features

  • Installation: Must be carried out by certified expert workers according to EN 1949 and other applicable standards.
  • Aeration: The installation room must have adequate ventilation openings for fresh air intake and exhaust of combustion gases, complying with EN 1646-1, EN 1949, and EN 721. These openings require periodic checking and cleaning.
  • Gas Connection: Exclusively gas-tight connections using zinc-coated iron or copper tubes. Tightness must be checked with soap solution. The gas pipeline must not be twisted, pulled, or strained during installation.
  • Gas Cylinder Handling: Use gas cylinders appropriate for the country of sale. Cylinders must be placed vertically in a dedicated, unobstructed cabinet. Always shut the gas cylinder valve after use.
  • Gas Cylinder Replacement Safety: Before replacing a gas cylinder, close appliance taps, shut the vehicle's gas tap, ensure no open flames, close the old cylinder's valve, detach the regulator, replace the cylinder, re-connect in reverse, check for tightness with soap solution, and then ignite the burner to verify proper operation. If issues persist, contact a specialized engineer.
  • Flame Inspection: The flame should be quiet, predominantly blue, and have clear outlines. If not burning cleanly, check and clear air inlet (Venturi tube) openings. Consult a gas specialist if in doubt.
  • Oven Ignition:
    1. Ensure the oven door is fully open.
    2. Lightly press the turn button and turn it to the left to the ignition position.
    3. Hold the button pressed for approximately 10 seconds after ignition.
    4. Release the button and turn it to the desired temperature (up to 250 °C).
    5. If ignition fails, repeat the procedure. Check gas supply and electrical power if necessary.
    6. For first-time use, operate the oven idle at the highest temperature for about 30 minutes.
    7. If the burner unintentionally goes out, turn off the knob and wait at least 1 minute before re-igniting.
  • Grill Ignition (if applicable):
    1. Ensure the oven door is fully open.
    2. Turn the button to the "Grill" position (to the right after pressing).
    3. When grilling, the oven door must remain open.
  • Safety Precaution: "GLOVES ARE NECESSARY TO BE USED UPON HANDLING HOT OBJECTS." Avoid children near the oven when in use due to high temperatures.
  • Oven Door: Push up the lock handle with a thumb to open. The handle locks automatically when the door is shut.
  • Pan Position: The pan slides into guiding rails and can be placed in one of three vertical positions.

Maintenance Features

  • Gas Tap Maintenance: If the gas tap is stiff or jammed, it should be replaced, or the valve cone should be cleaned with benzine and lubricated with special grease (e.g., Klüber "Staburgas No. 32"). This must be done by a gas appliance expert.
  • Periodic Checks: Gas-conducting parts and connected waste gas exhaustion (gas exhaust pipe) should be checked by an expert every 2 years, especially according to EN 1949. The user is responsible for ensuring these checks.
  • Ventilation Openings: Check and clean ventilation openings periodically, especially in winter to remove snow or dirt.
  • Gas Leak Detection: Use an electronic gas leak detector with type approval. In case of a defect, close the gas supply tap and contact a gas fitter, dealer, or specialized engineer.
  • Cleaning: Use only non-aggressive household cleaning agents. Do not use scrubbing or bleaching agents.
  • Faults: In case of facility faults, contact a specialized expert.
