Why is my Dometic RM 8 not cooling sufficiently?
    • E
      Eric MccarthyAug 4, 2025
There are several reasons why your Dometic Refrigerator might not be cooling well enough. It could be due to inadequate ventilation – ensure that the ventilation grilles are not covered. The thermostat setting might be too low, so try setting it to a higher level. Also, a heavily frosted condenser can cause this issue; make sure the refrigerator door closes properly. Avoid storing too much warm food at once; let it cool down first. If the appliance has only been running for a short time, wait approximately 4-5 hours to see if cooling improves. Finally, high ambient temperatures can affect cooling, so regularly remove the ventilation grilles.

What to do if Dometic Refrigerator does not cool in 230V operation?
    • A
      Angela HumphreyAug 11, 2025
If your Dometic Refrigerator isn't cooling when running on 230V, start by checking the on-board fuse and replacing it if defective. Ensure the vehicle is properly connected to a mains power supply. If you have an AES system, the refrigerator might switch to gas operation due to insufficient mains supply voltage; it will automatically switch back when the voltage is adequate. If these steps don’t resolve the issue, contact Dometic Customer Service, as the heating element may be defective.

What to do if Dometic RM 8 does not cool in 12V operation?
    • M
      mark29Aug 18, 2025
If your Dometic Refrigerator isn't cooling when operating on 12V, first check the on-board fuse and replace it if necessary. Ensure the on-board battery isn't discharged; check and charge it if needed. The engine must be running for it to cool. If none of these solutions work, please inform Dometic Customer Service, as the heating element may be defective.

How to fix Dometic Refrigerator not cooling in gas operation mode?
    • K
      krystalyatesAug 27, 2025
If your Dometic Refrigerator isn't cooling while in gas operation mode, make sure the gas cylinder isn't empty and replace it if it is. Check that the upstream shut-off device is open. If there's air in the gas pipe, switch off the appliance and start it again; repeat this procedure 3-4 times if necessary.
