DESCRIPTION
The cold start option serves to improve starting conditions in winter
operation at ambient temperatures from -10°C to -30°C. For this
purpose the unit is equipped with an independent coolant heater.
SAFETY
Compressor
With regard to the possibility of the regulation system freezing at
ambient temperatures below 0°C, pay attention to the required warm
up time. Do not apply full load to the engine at ambient temperatures
below -10°C before completing the warm up time.
Coolant heater
The heater must not be operated in the following situations:
• In filling stations and tank stock.
• In places where explosive vapors or dust may build up (e.g. near
fuel, coal, wood dust or cereal stores).
• In enclosed rooms (e.g. garages), not even via the timer.
The heater must not:
• be exposed to temperatures of more than 120°C (storage
temperature), otherwise the electronics may suffer permanent
damage.
The heater must:
• be operated at the nominal voltage specified on the rating plate.
• be disabled by removing the fuse if smoke develops, if unusual
noises are heard or if there is a smell of fuel. The heater must not be
restarted until the unit has been checked by trained personnel.
• be operated at least once per month for 10 minutes, with the engine
cold.
• be inspected by a specialist at the beginning of the winter season
or earlier.
