This document describes an intercom system designed to facilitate audio and video communication between an external front door station and internal indoor monitors. The system is versatile, supporting up to four internal monitors and two external door stations, making it suitable for various residential or small commercial setups.
Function Description
The primary function of this intercom system is to enable two-way audio and video communication. When a visitor presses the call button on the door station, the indoor monitor rings, and the screen displays the visitor's image. This allows the resident to see and speak with the visitor before granting access. If there is no answer within 30 seconds, the system automatically resets to standby mode.
A key feature of the system is its ability to support multiple door stations. In a two-door station setup, if one door station is busy, the indicator for the other door station will flash when its call button is pressed, signaling that it is in use.
The system also incorporates an intercommunication function, allowing internal audio communication between the monitors. This is achieved via a dedicated intercommunication button on each monitor, enabling residents to speak with each other from different rooms or floors.
For access control, the system includes a door release option. This function is activated via an "unlock" button on the monitor. Users who require this feature should inform their installer during setup. Additionally, an optional exit button can be fitted to the Master monitor, providing an alternative method for unlocking the door from inside the premises.
The system offers a monitoring function, allowing users to view activity at the door station even when no one has pressed the call button. In standby mode, pressing the monitor button activates the camera feed from the door station. If two door stations are installed, users can switch between them to view different entrances. While monitoring the front door, pressing the talk button enables two-way communication with the visitor. The monitoring function automatically ends after 30 seconds. If a visitor calls from the door station during monitoring, the monitoring session ends, and the monitor will chime to alert the resident of the incoming call.
A mute setting is available to silence the monitor's ringing. When the mute button is pressed, the ring indicator turns off, and the mute indicator turns on, providing a visual cue that the ringing is disabled.
Usage Features
The system is designed for ease of use with clearly labeled buttons and indicators.
The system's wiring recommendations emphasize optimal performance and reliability. The total wiring distance between the front door station and the last indoor monitor should not exceed 200 meters. The single wire resistance between the front door station and the main monitor should be less than 10 ohms. For multi-monitor setups, wiring between the main monitor and sub-monitors should be looped. The recommended cable type is polyethylene double insulated 1.2mm for robust and secure connections.
The back of the monitor features switches for configuring unlock time and video matching. The unlock time, which can be set to 1 second or 5 seconds, is configurable only for the Master Monitor. For Sub Monitors, video matching settings are crucial: the last monitor in the loop should have its switch set to "ON," while all other Sub Monitors should have their switches set to "OFF" to ensure proper video signal distribution.
Maintenance Features
While the manual primarily focuses on installation and operation, it provides some general guidelines for maintenance and troubleshooting:
These guidelines aim to help users maintain the system's functionality and address common issues, ensuring a smooth and reliable intercom experience.
